Moldova ( , ; ), officially the Republic of Moldova ( ro, Republica Moldova), is a Landlocked country, landlocked country in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south. Chișinău Independence Day Parade
The Chișinău Independence Day Parade is one of the events of the Independence Day of Moldova held by the Moldovan National Army. The parade is held in Chișinău, Moldova on August 27 every 5 to 10 years on Great National Assembly Square. History of Moldovan military parades Before 1991 parades in the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic were held in honor of the October Revolution, Victory Day, and until 1969 May Day. In 1976, Chisinau hosted a parade in honor of the 50th anniversary of its integration into the Soviet Union, held in the presence of General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev and First Secretary Ivan Bodiul. The final military parade in the Moldovan SSR took place in 1989 in honor of the October Revolution, which was marred by protests that occurred in the capital. 2010-11 Moldovan Cup is the 20th season of the Moldovan annual football tournament. The competition started in September 2010 with the first round and will end with the final held on May 26, 2011. 2010–11 Moldovan National Division
The 2010–11 Moldovan National Division ( ro, Divizia Naţională) was the 20th season of top-tier football in Moldova. Sheriff Tiraspol were the defending champions having won their tenth Moldovan championship, all consecutively, last season. The competition began on 24 July 2010. Teams FC Costuleni and CF Gagauziya were promoted from the Moldovan "A" Division as champions and runners-up, respectively, to the National Division. None of the teams competing in the 2009–10 season were relegated, leaving 14 teams to contest the league, with one relegation place for the team finishing bottom. Moldova participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "So Lucky" written by Roman Iagupov, Mihai Gîncu, Andy Shuman and Marc Elsner. The song was performed by the band Zdob şi Zdub. The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) organised the national final ''O melodie pentru Europa 2011'' in order to select the Moldovan entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. 98 entries competed to represent Moldova in Düsseldorf, with 25 being shortlisted to participate in the televised national final which took place on 26 February 2011 after auditioning in front of a jury panel.
