Sixteen nations qualified for the 2011 World Netball Championships, to be held in Singapore from 3–10 July. Participating nations have sent representative netball teams each comprising 12 players. Player rosters for all 16 teams were submitted to tournament organisers, and published on the WNC2011 website two days before the start of the tournament. 2011 World Netball Championships
The 2011 World Netball Championships was the 13th edition of the INF Netball World Cup, a quadrennial premier event in international netball. It was held in Singapore from 3–10 July. All 48 matches were played at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Singapore was chosen as the host nation at the 2007 IFNA Congress in Auckland. Sixteen nations contested the week-long tournament. Ten nations gained selection for the World Championships in five regional qualifying tournaments held from 2010–11; the top five national teams from the 2007 tournament also qualified, along with host nation Singapore. The teams were divided into four pools, in which teams played every other team once. The two highest teams in each pool progressed to the quarter-finals, while the remaining teams played in classification matches to determine the 9th–16th placings. Susan Fuhrmann
Susan Elizabeth Fuhrmann (born 30 July 1986), known as "the Fuhrmannator", is an Australian retired international netball player. Early life Susan Fuhrmann was born and raised in Katoomba, New South Wales until her parents moved to Perth when she was five-years old. She was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. Fuhrmann debuted for the Australian national team in 2006, and was also a member of the Australian team that won silver at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and gold at the 2011 Netball World Championships. She used her height advantage to intimidate her opponents, especially Irene van Dyk, New Zealand's top shooter. Tharjini Sivalingam (born 30 December 1978) is a former Sri Lankan veteran netball player and former skipper of the Sri Lankan national netball team. With her staggering height of 206 cm or a fraction under 6 ft 9in, she has been recognized as one of the most successful shooters of all time and often regarded as the tallest netball player ever. She is the most capped international netball player to represent Sri Lanka. She was a regular member of Sri Lankan netball team in international netball tournaments since making her debut in 2009. Chathurangi Jayasuriya
Chathurangi Jayasooriya also spelled as Chathurangi Jayasuriya (born 10 July 1990) is a Sri Lankan netball player and the current captain of the Sri Lanka national netball team who plays in the positions of goal defense or goal keeper. She has been a regular member of the Sri Lankan team since 2011 and took over the captaincy of the national side from fellow veteran Tharjini Sivalingam in 2017. She plays in the position of goal defense and also as the goal keeper. She also currently serves as the flight lieutenant at the Sri Lanka Air Force. Linda Vagana
Linda Tuumuliga Vagana (born 23 July 1971 in Auckland, New Zealand) is an international netball coach and former representative player from New Zealand. Vagana played as a circle defender, and was a member of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, from 1993 (joining the squad at the end of 1992) up until 2002, earning 61 caps. She was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2003 Queen's Birthday Honours, for services to netball.
