Great Yarmouth
Great Yarmouth (), often called Yarmouth, is a seaside town and unparished area in, and the main administrative centre of, the Borough of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, England; it straddles the River Yare and is located east of Norwich. A population of 38,693 in the 2011 Census made it Norfolk's third most populous. Its fishing industry, mainly for herring, shrank after the mid-20th century and has all but ended. John Glover Roberts Jr. (born January 27, 1955) is an American lawyer and jurist who has served as the 17th chief justice of the United States since 2005. Roberts has authored the majority opinion in several landmark cases, including '' National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius,'' ''Shelby County v. Holder'', and ''Riley v. California''. He has been described as having a conservative judicial philosophy but, above all, is an institutionalist. Jonny Ross
Jonathan Stewart Ross is a Northern Irish bowler who was born in Lisburn. He now represents Scotland after moving there. Bowls career He was part of the winning Irish Fours team in the 2004 World Bowls Championships held in Ayr, Scotland with Jim Baker, Neil Booth and Noel Graham. He also won the British Isles Singles titles in 2001 and 2002 and was the first Irish player to win the Scottish outdoors singles title. Jonathan partnered Noel Graham to win the prestigious Hong Kong International Bowls Classic pairs title on a record equalling three occasions. Stewart Anderson (bowls)
Stewart Anderson (born 23 July 1985) is a Scottish international bowls player and a world champion indoors. Bowls career He started bowling aged just 12 with Auchinleck Indoor Juniors and outdoor with Glaisnock Valley. Having previously been a beaten finalist in the 2010 World Championships (where he lost out to Greg Harlow) Anderson beat Paul Foster in the final match that ended 10-10, 10-9 to secure the 2013 World indoor title. In 2015 he won the triples gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. During the 2016 World Indoor Bowls Championship Anderson partnered up with Darren Burnett and the Scottish pair recorded their first Open Pairs title success. In 2018 he won the Scottish International Open. Later that season, Anderson became a two-time World Open singles champion, winning the 2019 World Indoor Bowls Championship. Robert Weale
Robert Arthur Weale (born in Hereford on 3 April 1963), is a Welsh international lawn and indoor bowls player. Weale is originally from Presteigne and was educated at John Beddoes School, but now lives in Hereford. In 2022, he was inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of fame. Bowls career Weale made his international debut in 1982. He was the youngest competitor in the 1984 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Aberdeen, where he competed in the triples event. World Titles Weale's career-best performance came in January 2000, when he won the 2000 World Indoor Bowls Championship singles title at Potters. Just a few months later, Weale won the men's fours title at the 2000 World Outdoor Bowls Championship, in April 2000. Simon Skelton is an English international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Simon bowls for the Nottingham indoor club and Stute outdoor bowls club. During the 2002 Commonwealth Games he was part of the fours that won the gold medal with John Ottaway, Robert Newman and David Holt. In 2011 he won the mixed pairs title at the 2011 World Indoor Bowls Championship with Alison Merrien and four years later won the open pairs title with Robert Paxton. In addition to his international achievements he also won a National Championship title in 2009 representing Derbyshire and Stute BC. Timothy John Stone, CBE (born 1951) is a British businessman and senior expert adviser with interests in infrastructure, finance, nuclear power and water supply. He is a non-executive director of the Arup Group, chairman of Nuclear Risk Insurers and former non-executive director of Horizon Nuclear Power and a former senior expert non-executive director on the board of the European Investment Bank. David Gourlay
David Gourlay is a Scottish (and former Australian) international lawn & indoor bowler from the Prestwick Bowling Club and Crookston Bowling Club. He is also a Commonwealth Games medal winning coach. Bowls career Gourlay, a Glaswegian, first took up the game aged 11 following the success of his father David Gourlay Sr. at the 1982 Commonwealth Games and his mother Sarah Gourlay at the 1985 World Outdoor Championships.
