2011 WAFL Season
The 2011 WAFL season was the 127th season of the West Australian Football League and its various incarnations. The season opened on 19 March, with defeating by 15 points at Steel Blue Oval, and concluded with the 2011 WAFL Grand Final, with defeating by 56 points. The 2011 Sandover Medal was won by Luke Blackwell of . The top three teams – Claremont, Subiaco and – qualified for the 2012 Foxtel Cup. Blake Broadhurst (born 29 December 1985) is an Australian rules footballer who formerly played for Subiaco Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Matthew Moody
Matthew Moody (born 23 September 1985) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He was recruited as the number 23 draft pick in the 2003 AFL draft from South Fremantle in the West Australian Football League. He made his debut for the Brisbane Lions in Round 6, 2005 against Essendon. Moody struggled with leg injuries in 2007 and 2008, and was eventually delisted by the Lions at the conclusion of the 2008 season. Ross Young (footballer)
Ross Young (born 9 September 1983) is an Australian rules footballer. He is most notable for his time at the Perth Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), where he served as captain and won a Sandover Medal. He had a brief career in the Australian Football League with the Carlton Football Club. Career Originally from Donald, Victoria, Young played under-18s football for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup in 2001. Following this, Young played amateur football for three years with the University Blues in the VAFA, winning a flag and a best and fairest award with the Blues in 2004. Steven Armstrong
Steven Armstrong (born 12 January 1984) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League and current coach of the Subiaco Lions colts team. Brad Holmes (born July 29, 1979) is an American football executive who is the general manager and executive vice president for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). Holmes previously served with the St. Louis / Los Angeles Rams in various executive roles from 2003 to 2020. Education and playing career Holmes attended George D. Josh Smith (Australian Footballer, Born 1986)
Josh Smith (born 5 March 1986) is an Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the AFL between 2008 and 2010. Recruited from West Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) with the 62nd selection in the 2007 AFL Draft, Smith made his AFL debut in Round 7 of the 2008 AFL season but only played one more AFL game for the year. He struggled to break into the North Melbourne side over the next two years, only playing five games in 2009 and four in 2010 before he was delisted at the end of the 2010 season. When not playing for North Melbourne, he played for North Ballarat in the Victorian Football League and was a member of their 2008, 2009 and 2010 premiership sides. Brendan Lee (born 9 September 1987) is a former professional Australian rules football player at the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), and most notable for his long career with East Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Originally from East Perth, Lee made his senior WAFL debut in 2007 at age 19. By 2010, he was a regular senior player for the Royals, and he won the club's best and fairest award in 2011.
