2011 United Football League (Philippines)
The 2011 United Football League (known as the LBC United Football League for sponsorship reasons) began with seven teams in Division 1 and eight teams in Division 2. This was the second season of the United Football League since its establishment as a semi-professional tournament in 2009. The season started on 23 January 2011 with two matches at the University of Makati Stadium. Philippine Air Force F.C. are the current defending Champions. The Philippine Air Force won their second title in the first division. The Manila Nomads won their first title in the second division and together with Stallion FC and Pasargad, they were promoted to the 2012 United Football League Division 1 after their good stint in the 2011 UFL Cup. Dan Stephen Castillo Palami (born June 9, 1970) is the general manager of the Philippine men's national football team since 2009. He is credited for his contributions to the revival of football in the Philippines due to the national team's performance at the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup. Early life and education Dan Palami was born in Tacloban on June 9, 1970. He studied at the University of the Philippines and pursued a degree in accountancy. Palami became a certified public accountant. He also studied law at the same university but stopped his studies during his fourth year to establish a railway company. Alexander Charles Luis "Aly" Borromeo (born 28 June 1983) is an American-born Filipino retired footballer who played as a defender. He is currently a team manager for Kaya-Iloilo and was a long-time captain of the Philippines national team. Club career Borromeo joined Kaya in 1999, and has been the captain of the first team for several years during his tenure. He went on a loan to Global during the 2010–11 season and led the club to be the champions of the 2010 UFL Cup during that season. Rudy del Rosario (15 September 1969 – 20 November 2020) was a Filipino football coach and footballer who played for the Philippines national football team and Kaya F.C. College career Del Rosario played for the football team of the University of the Philippines. The Manila Nomads Sports Club, or simply the Nomads Sports Club or the Manila Nomads, is a sports club based in Carmona, Cavite, Philippines.
