2011 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship Qualifying Round
2011 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship (qualifying round) will be the first round of qualifications for the Final Tournament of UEFA U-17 Championship 2011. The qualifying round will be played between September 17 and November 1, 2010. The 52 teams were divided into 13 groups of four teams, with each group being contested as a mini-tournament, hosted by one of the group's teams. After all matches have been played, the 13 group winners and 13 group runners-up will advance to the Elite round. Alongside the 26 winner and runner-up teams, the two best third-placed teams also qualify. These are determined after considering only their results against their group's top two teams, and applying the following criteria in this order: #Higher number of points obtained in these matches; #Superior goal difference from these matches; #Higher number of goals scored in these matches; #Fair-play conduct of the teams in all group matches in the qualifying round; #Drawing of lots. 2011 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship
The 2011 UEFA European Under-17 Championship was the tenth edition of UEFA's European Under-17 Football Championship. Serbia hosted the tournament between the 3 and 15 May. 6 Teams also qualified for the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Players born after 1 January 1994 were eligible to participate in this competition. England was the defending champion, but lost in the semi-final. The Netherlands defeated Germany 5–2 in the final to win the championship for the first time. Anthony Buttimer
Anthony Buttimer (born 13 July 1965) is an Irish FIFA-level soccer referee from Cork. A League of Ireland official, he took charge of the 2008 FAI Cup Final in the RDS, Dublin. Career Buttimer regularly referees matches in the League of Ireland. In the past he has been dispatched to referee local derbies including the Connacht Derby contested between Sligo Rovers and Galway United in August 2007. He was also deployed in the 2013 FAI Cup Semi Final and Louth Derby between Dundalk and Drogheda. In September 2007, Buttimer took issue with the colour of the goalkeeper's jerseys in a game between Dundalk and Shelbourne.
