The 2011 Dominion Curling Club Championship was held from November 21 to 26 at the Richmond Curling Club in Richmond, British Columbia. The third edition of the Dominion Curling Club Championship featured men's and women's teams from clubs all across Canada. Richmond, British Columbia
Richmond is a coastal city in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada. It occupies almost the entirety of Lulu Island (excluding Queensborough), between the two estuarine distributaries of the Fraser River. High Park Club
The High Park Club is a tennis and curling club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The club is located on Indian Road, just east of High Park. Prior to 1910, curling took place on Grenadier Pond in High Park. The club organized and built its clubhouse in 1911, making it one of Toronto's oldest curling clubs. Richmond Hill Curling Club
The Richmond Hill Curling Club (or RHCC) is a curling centre located in the town of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. The modern RHCC has been in operation since 1959; however, the original RHCC was established in 1889. The club has a 12-person Board of Directors which is elected by the membership at large. The Board is responsible for all club operations. The RHCC is a stable 6-sheet club that has curling leagues operating Sunday through Friday, with many bonspiels and rentals on Saturdays. Beaver Curling Club
Curl Moncton Inc. is a curling club in Moncton, New Brunswick. History Curl Moncton traces its history back to the founding of the Moncton Curling Association (MCA) in 1881, and was located on Lower Lutz Street. The club was moved to Mechanic Street in 1903, but was destroyed in a fire in 1915. The club was then rebuilt on Lutz Street. Curl Moncton itself was formed in 2011 when the Beaver Curling Club and the Curling Beauséjour merged. The MCA joined Curl Moncton in 2013, when Curl Moncton purchased its site on Lutz Street to gain access to equity. The move was controversial, as it involved evicting the Humanity Project, which had been using the facility to help house and feed the homeless population. Using the equity from the sale, the club was expanded from five sheets to ten in 2019 at the cost of $2.7 million. Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club
The Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club is located in the northwestern area of Winnipeg, in the community of St. James. The curling club was started up in 1929 and was nicknamed the 'root cellar', it had only 2 sheets of ice at the time.http://www.curlamcc.ca Assiniboine Memorial CC Site/ The AMCC moved to their current site, at Vimy and Hamilton, in 1962. This new location was built with 4 sheets and then expanded to 8, as it has today. A small fire destroyed part of the clubrooms and arena in 1972, most of the original structure remained and was rebuilt. In 1992 the AMCC addressed the problem of the shifting Winnipeg 'gumbo' under the ice sheets. The ice was dug out 6 feet beneath the curling rink, filled with sand, and covered with styrofoam to prevent shifting of the ice. The Cornwall Curling Club is a curling club in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island, Canada. History The Cornwall Village Council decided in 1979 to build a curling rink in the community, and construction began in 1981. The club officially opened in January 1982. Despite a number of hiccups in its first season, it did not take long for the club to produce a provincial champion. Nancy Coffin, Sharon Cole, Pam Sherren, and Heather Worth won the 1983 Prince Edward Island Junior Women's curling championship.
