2011 Southeast Asia Basketball Association Championship
The 2011 FIBA Asia Championship qualification was held in late 2010 and early 2011 with the Persian Gulf, Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia (Central Asia and South Asia) each conducting tournaments. Qualification format The following are eligible to participate: * The organizing country. * The champion team from the previous FIBA Asia Stanković Cup. * The four best-placed teams from the previous FIBA Asia Stanković Cup will qualify the same number of teams from their respective sub-zones. * The two best teams from the sub-zones. FIBA Asia Stanković Cup Qualified teams East Asia The 2011 East Asia Basketball Championship is the qualifying tournament for the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. It also serves as a regional championship involving East Asian basketball teams. the three best teams excluding China qualifies for 2011 FIBA Asia Championship. 2011 FIBA Asia Championship
The 2011 FIBA Asia Championship for Men is the intercontinental championship for basketball organized by FIBA Asia that doubles as a qualifying tournament for the Basketball at the Summer Olympics, men's basketball tournament of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, United Kingdom. The tournament was held in 15–25 September 2011 at Wuhan, Hubei, China. Lebanon was the original host for the event. Team China men's national basketball team, China won the tournament, defeating Jordan national basketball team, Jordan 70–69 in the final. It was the first time in the history of FIBA Asia Championship that the title was won by just one single point. Qualification According to the FIBA Asia rules, each zone had two berths, and the host nation China men's national basketball team, China and FIBA Asia Stanković Cup champions Lebanon men's national basketball team, Lebanon were automatically qualified.
