2011 Sheikh Jassem Cup
The 2011 Sheikh Jassim Cup was the 33rd edition of the league cup competition for football teams from Qatar. Al-Arabi are the defending champions. Groups 18 clubs from the Qatar Stars League and Qatari 2nd Division were drawn into 4 groups. The winners of each group qualify for the semi-finals. Al-Arabi SC (Qatar)
Al-Arabi Sports Club ( ar, النادي العربي الرياضي) is a Qatari sports club based in Doha. Founded in 1952, the most prominent team of the club is the football team that competes in the Qatar Stars League. The club's home ground is the 13,000-seat Grand Hamad Stadium, where they have played since their establishment. Al-Arabi had their first major success in 1978, winning the Emir of Qatar Cup, and won various titles during the 1980s and 1990s. The club enjoyed their greatest period of success in those two decades, winning 17 major trophies. It used to be known as Al-Tadamun Sport Club. It is best known for being the first Qatari club to make it to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League. Al-Shamal Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشمال الرياضي) is a Qatari multi-sports club based in Madinat ash Shamal. Al-Shamal was founded in 1980. Al-Rayyan Sports Club () is a Qatari multi-sports club fielding teams in a number of sports such as football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis, and swimming. It is based at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Umm Al Afaei in the city of Al Rayyan. The club was founded in 1967 after merging the old Rayyan team with ''Nusoor Club''. Al Kharaitiyat Sport Club ( ar, نادي الخريطيات) is a Qatari sports club based in the town of Al Kharaitiyat, best known for its football team of the Qatari Second Division. Al-Sailiya Sports Club ( ar, نادي السيلية الرياضي) is a Qatari professional football club currently competing in the Qatar Stars League. They are based in Doha and play their home games at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium. History Al Sailiya were founded as ''Al Qadsiya'' on 10 October 1995. Muaither SC ( ar, نادي معيذر الرياضي) is a multi-sports club based in Muaither, Qatar. It is best known for its football department, which plays in the Qatari Second Division. History 1996–2013: Second division The club was founded in 1996 as "Al Shabab". It changed its name to "Al Muaither" in 2004 by decision of the Qatar Olympic Committee.
