2011 Scottish Women's Premier League
The 2011 Women's Premier League was the tenth season of the Scottish Women's Premier League. A total of eleven teams contested the division. It was played as a double round-robin in 2011. Celtic Reserves had won the 2010 Scottish Women's First Division, but were unable to be promoted as league rules stipulate each club may field only one team in the Premier League. Thus Hutchison Vale, as second-place finishers, were promoted and replaced the relegated Aberdeen. Dundee United Sports Club and Boroughmuir Thistle resigned from the league before the season commenced, resulting in Falkirk being offered promotion in February 2011. On the 17th matchday, Glasgow City secured their fifth straight Scottish title. Spartans W.F.C. finished as runners-up. Owing to a lack of clubs eligible to be promoted, F.C. Scottish Women's Premier League
The Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) is the highest level of league competition in women's football in Scotland. Its two divisions are SWPL 1 and SWPL 2. The league was formed when the Premier Division of the Scottish Women's Football League (SWFL) broke away to form the SWPL in 2002. SWPL 2 was introduced in 2016. The divisions contain (in the 2022–23 season) 12 clubs in SWPL 1 and eight in SWPL 2. Glasgow City have won 15 League championships, including 14 in succession from 2007 until 2021. The champions and runners-up of SWPL 1 qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. From 2002, the league was owned and managed by Scottish Women's Football. Administration of the SWPL was taken over by the Scottish Football Association in 2007, then by the Scottish Professional Football League in 2022. Lennoxtown Training Centre
Lennoxtown Training Centre is Celtic F.C.'s training centre, located at Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire in Scotland. The complex houses the club's training and educational facilities. Background Lennoxtown was designed to replace Celtic's former training ground at Barrowfield (a short distance east of the club's stadium Celtic Park in the east end of Glasgow). The complex is built on former NHS land adjacent to the vacated Lennox Castle Hospital and is located on a site near the Campsie Fells; half of the site has been developed in ''Phase One'' of the project to provide the existing training facilities with the remaining land being left for development in ''Phase Two'' which will provide conference facilities and live-in dormitory areas for young players. Petershill Park is a leisure centre and football stadium located in the Springburn suburb of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. Scottish Women's First Division
The Scottish Women's Football League First Division (SWFL 1) was a division in the Scottish women's football pyramid between 1999 and 2019. The second league tier from 1999 to 2015, it was later the third tier from 2016 to 2019. For most of its history, the First Division was a national league whose top teams won promotion to the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL), while the lowest were relegated to the Second Division (SWFL 2). Those divisions operated on the traditional autumn–spring football season calendar until 2009, when they switched to a March–November schedule.
