2011 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom Season
The 2011 AirAsia Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom season will begin at Brands Hatch on 3 April and will finish after 16 races over 8 events at Brands Hatch on 2 October. The season will support rounds of the British Touring Car Championship. On 28 February, AirAsia X was announced as title sponsor to the series in a three-year deal. Rule changes The 2011 season will see several rules introduced in an effort to cut costs for competitors to an annual budget of approximately £60,000. These changes including a reduction in the number of rounds from 20 to 16, a reduction in tyre allocation from 60 slick tyres per year to 48 and a reduction of official test days and a freedom of test venue introduced. Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom
The Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom was an entry level One-make, Touring car racing motor sport category and the current name in the long history of Renault one-make cups in the UK. It currently attracts drivers from across the United Kingdom to compete along with several drivers for European countries. The championship has been run to various regulations over the years, and can trace its history back to 1974. Several former drivers have become successful in other Touring car racing formulae, including Andy Priaulx, who went on to become multiple World Touring Car Championship champion and Jason Plato who is multiple British Touring Car Championship champion. The championship currently runs on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship. The Renault Sport Series (formerly known as World Series by Renault) is a motor racing series. Jack Goff (born 6 March 1991) is a British auto racing driver. He was the 2012 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom champion. He made his debut in the British Touring Car Championship on 31 March 2013 at Brands Hatch, driving for RCIB Insurance Racing. Christopher James Swanwick (born 22 October 1993 in Nottingham, England) is a British racing driver. He is best known for having competed in the British Touring Car Championship, he made his début on 2 October 2011 at Brands Hatch. Career History Karting Swanwick was a relative late starter to karting, starting in 2003 at the age of 9 in Formula cadets where he did his novice plates. He quickly progressed and by the end of the next year won the Comer cadets, North Regional Final.
