The 2011 President's Cup is the 61st season of the President's Cup (Maldives), President's Cup, a knock-out competition for Maldives' top 4 association football, football clubs. VB Sports Club are the defending champions, having defeated Victory Sports Club in 2010 President's Cup (Maldives), last season's 2010 President's Cup (Maldives) Final, final. Broadcasting rights The broadcasting rights for all the matches of 2011 Maldives President's Cup were given to the Television Maldives. Victory Sports Club
Victory Sports Club is a Maldivian sports club based in Malé and founded 3 July 1971, that includes a football team amongst other sports. Victory is one of the most successful football clubs in Maldives, winning a record 21 National Championships. They have also won the Dhivehi League (founded in 2000) twice, and the national FA Cup four times. Ibrahim Fazeel
Ibrahim Fazeel (born 9 October 1980) is a Maldivian footballer nicknamed "Oppo", who can play both as a midfielder and as a forward currently who plays for Llangefni Town FC He started his career while he was a student in Majeedhiyaa School in 1999. Fazeel played his first international match on 2 April 2000 against Syria (AFC Asian Cup Lebanon 2000) and scored first goal in the Golden jubilee international tournament against Bangladesh. He is the only player who scored for times in the semi-finals to take Maldives to the finals. After his international duty in 1999, he signed for his first club New lagoons in 2000. Between 2001 and 2003 he played for IFC which was the best club at that time. From 2004 to 2006 he changed to New Radiant SC. In 2007, a new club named VB signed him for a record fee. Ibrahim Shiyam
Ibrahim Shiyam (born 3 February 1982) is a Maldivian footballer nicknamed ''"Dhona"'' or ''"Kuda Thoddoo"''. Club career Shiyam started his career at Victory Sports Club in 2001 and was nominated for the Haveeru footballer of the year award in his debut season. He continued playing for Victory until moving to Club Valencia in 2009, but also played a season at Island FC in the year 2004. He then moved to New Radiant for the 2010 season and after spending a couple of seasons at the club, he signed to VB Sports Club. His contract with VB did not last long, he moved to Maziya after appealing to terminate his contract with VB before the 2012 season started, without playing a single game. Mohamed Umair (born 3 July 1988) is a Maldivian professional footballer. In his career Umair has played as a defender, midfielder, and forward. Hüseyin Cengiz (born 25 July 1984) is a Turkish-Dutch former footballer. Club career Cengiz played for De Graafschap and Turkish side Yozgatspor, before joining Eerste Divisie club AGOVV in 2006. Abu Desmond Mansaray (born 25 September 1984 in Sierra Leone) is a footballer from Sierra Leone who plays for Club Zefrol in the Maldives. He is described as good at dribbling and crossing into the box.
