2011 Montreal Impact Season
The 2011 Montreal Impact season was the 18th season of the franchise. It was the club's final season in the NASL before a new Major League Soccer club of the same name, with the same ownership replaces the Impact for the 2012 season. Montreal Impact (1992–2011)
The Montreal Impact (french: Impact de Montréal) was a Canadian professional association football, soccer club based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1993, the team played in the United Soccer League. Later, the Impact played in the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid until the 2011 season. The owner Joey Saputo now operates the Major League Soccer, MLS team CF Montréal, which also carried the Montreal Impact name until 2021. The team played its home games at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard until 2008 when it moved to the new Saputo Stadium where it played until its move to MLS. The team's colours were blue and white. The Impact had 11 different head coaches during these years. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. Marco Terminesi
Marco Terminesi (born September 5, 1984, in Woodbridge, Ontario) is a Canadian former soccer player. Career Youth and college Terminesi attended Holy Cross Catholic Academy, and played club soccer for Woodbridge Soccer Club, guiding them to the 1994 and 2000 Robbie International Championship, the 2002 Ontario Cup Championship and the 2003 Showcase Championship. He played college soccer at the University of Louisville from 2003 to 2007. He was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll on three occasions, and was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team in his debut year, and was the 2008 Big East Scholar Athlete of the Year. Anthony Le Gall (born March 7, 1985) is a French footballer currently playing for Angoulême CFC in Division Honneur (6th division). Career Europe Le Gall was a member of the youth setup at AC Le Havre, and later with Brest, before signing his first professional contract with Brest in 2007. He made 24 appearances, and scored 2 goals, for Brest in his three years with the club, before moving to Canada. Eduardo Sebrango
Eduardo Sebrango Rodríguez (born 13 April 1973) is a retired Cuban footballer. Career Club Sebrango started his career in Cuba with his hometown team, Sancti Spíritus where he played with the club for 14 seasons as both a youth and a senior player. Vancouver 86ers Sebrango immigrated from Cuba to Canada in 1998, and was subsequently signed by the Vancouver 86ers of the then A-League. He scored 18 goals and recorded 10 assists for Vancouver before being signed by Hershey Wildcats in 2001. Seattle Sounders Football Club is an American professional men's soccer club based in Seattle. The Sounders compete as a member of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). The club was established on November 13, 2007, and began play in 2009 as an MLS expansion team. Miguel Montaño
Miguel Montaño (born June 25, 1991) is a Colombian footballer who plays for Victoria Hotspurs in Malta. Club career Montaño began his career in the youth ranks of Deportivo Pereira in 2006 before moving to Selección Palmira the following season. In 2008, he joined Envigado and was a top prospect for the club scoring 18 goals in 24 matches with the reserve team. His play while on the books of the Envigado reserve team helped him draw interest from Argentina's Quilmes. He joined Quilmes in 2009 and scored 13 goals in 19 appearances for the club. Diambars FC de Saly is a football academy in Saly, Senegal, which plays in the Senegalese National League 1. It's also a part of Diambars, a non-profit organisation certified by UNESCO. History Diambars was founded in 2003 by former footballer Patrick Vieira and other players. Diambars started at the regional championships, after being the best in regional divisions, Diambars elevated to a professional status in 2009. Amir Lowery
Amir Lowery (born December 26, 1983) is a 2020 American political candidate and former soccer player. Career College and Amateur Lowery attended Wake Forest University where he played on the men's soccer team from 2001 to 2004. In 2001, Lowery played for the Chesapeake Dragons of the USL Premier Development League. During the summer of 2004, he played one season with the Carolina Dynamo. Professional In February 2005, Colorado Rapids selected Lowery in the third round (45th overall) in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. He was also selected by the Philadelphia KiXX in the fourth round of the Major Indoor Soccer League draft, but signed with the Rapids. Leonardo Di Lorenzo
Leonardo Di Lorenzo (born May 20, 1981 in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine footballer. He announced his retirement from football at the age of 39 on 20 January 2021. Ali Ngon Gerba (; born September 4, 1981) is a former professional soccer player who played as a forward. Born in Cameroon, he represented the Canada national team. Club career Canada and United States In 2000 Gerba signed with the Montreal Impact, then of the A-League, where he recorded six goals and two assists, a club record for a rookie. In 2001 Gerba attempted a move up to Major League Soccer by signing with the Miami Fusion, but without success. In 2002 Gerba returned to the A-League when he signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
