The 2011 Men's South American Volleyball Championship was the 29th edition of the tournament, organised by CSV. It was held in Cuiabá, Brazil from 19 to 25 September 2011. Sérgio Santos (volleyball)
Sérgio Dutra dos Santos, known as Serginho or Escadinha (born 15 October 1975) is a former Brazilian volleyball player. As a member of Brazil men's national volleyball team, he won gold medals at the 2004 and 2016 Olympics and silver medals at the 2008 and 2012 editions. Additionally, he's a two-time World Champion (2006, 2010) and a multimedalist of the World League, South American Championship, World Cup and the Grand Champions Cup. In 2009 he became the first libero to be named Most Valuable Player in the history of the FIVB World League. Career He is widely regarded as one of the best liberos of all time and is unquestionably the best libero of the 2000s, with more awards than any other libero. Known for his outstanding service reception and digging capabilities, teams often attempt to avoid Sergio when serving. Rodrigão
Rodrigo Santana (born 17 April 1979), commonly known as Rodrigão, is a Brazilian former volleyball player who won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. Santana with brazil team won the World Championship in 2002 Argentina, 2006 Japan and 2010 Italy. He also won the World Cup, the Pan-American Games, and the South American Championship, in Chile, where he was elected as the Best attacker. He was born in São Paulo. Kervin Piñerua
Kervin Martin Piñerúa Urbina (22 February 1991 – 18 November 2016) was a Venezuelan volleyball player who played as an opposite hitter for Miranda and as captain for Venezuela's national team. On November 18, 2016 he died at a hospital in Ankara after a heart attack. Personal life Piñerúa started playing baseball and competing in athletics at an early age, he was convinced by his mother to play volleyball and entered Venezuela's national team at the age of 18. Bernardo Rezende
Bernardo Rocha de Rezende (born 25 August 1959), known as Bernardo Rezende and nicknamed Bernardinho, is a Brazilian volleyball coach and former player. He is the current coach of the female volleyball team Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube. Rezende is the most successful coach in the history of volleyball, accumulating more than 30 major titles in twenty-year career directing the Brazilian male and female teams. He has won two Olympic gold medals during his coaching career, as head coach of Brazil men's national volleyball team at Athens 2004 and Rio 2016 Olympics. He also won two bronze medals as head coach of Brazil women's national volleyball team at 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney. As of 2021, with 48 medals overall, he is the most successful team sport coach of all time. Dante Guimarães Santos do Amaral (born 30 September 1980) is a former Brazilian professional volleyball player, who is best known as Dante. Measuring and , he played in the position of outside hitter. He was born in Itumbiara. Biography Early years Career Dante began his professional career in 1999 with the club Tres Corações. After another two years at Brazilian clubs Suzano São Paulo and Minas Belo Horizonte, in 2002 he got transferred to Italy, playing with Pallavolo Modena, where he won the CEV Cup. In 2005 he joined Greek team Panathinaikos. He won the Greek championship in 2006 and the Greek cup and supercup in 2007. Dante was also a member of the Brazil men's national volleyball team since 1999. Among the titles he has won with Brazil is the Olympic gold medal in 2004 and the World Championship in 2002 and 2006.
