2011 Melon Music Awards
The 2011 Melon Music Awards were held on Thursday, November 24, 2011, at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, South Korea, the event's first use of the venue. Organized by Kakao M through its online music store Melon, the 2011 ceremony was the third installment of the event since its offline launch in 2009. Beast, IU and 2NE1 received the most nominations at the ceremony, have each been nominated five times. The trio along with Super Junior were the only artists who received multiple accolades, with all four artists winning two awards each. Furthermore, the aforementioned trio won the three ''daesang'' prizes at the event. Olympic Gymnastics Arena
The Olympic Gymnastics Arena (), also known as the KSPO Dome since 2018, is an indoor arena located within the Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea. It has a capacity of 15,000 and can be extended upto 20,000. It was constructed between 31 August 1984 and 30 April 1986, to host the gymnastics competitions at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The roof was designed by David H. Geiger. It is a self-supporting cable dome – the first of its kind ever built – with a four-layer fabric cladding. Melon () is a South Korean online music store and music streaming service introduced in November 2004, and developed by SK Telecom. LOEN Entertainment (became Kakao M and then Kakao Entertainment) became the company-in-charge of the service in 2009. In 2017, Kakao merged Kakao Music into Melon to have one, unified music streaming service. Melon is South Korea's largest music subscription service, with over 28 million users. Melon is the most popular music streaming service in South Korea. In fact, a survey of users of smartphones found that they were the most used applications by Koreans. ''Fiction and Fact'' is the first studio album by South Korean boy band Beast. It was released on May 17, 2011 by Cube Entertainment and contains 10 songs, including the singles "On Rainy Days" and "Fiction". f(x) (; ) is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2009. "Starlight Moonlight" (Korean: 별빛달빛) is a song by South Korean Kpop girl group Secret. The song was released as a CD single on June 1, 2011, through TS Entertainment. The song was written and produced by Kang Ji Won and Kim Ki Bum, the same producers of their previous hits such as "Magic", "Madonna" and "Shy Boy". “Starlight Moonlight” is a sweet, retro-inspired song with influences of traditional Korean folk music. The song's lyrics describe the protagonist's feelings when the man confesses his love, and compares the protagonist's feeling towards her lover as bright as the “Starlight” and “Moonlight”. "Shy Boy" (Korean: 샤이보이) is a single by South Korean girl group Secret. It is released as a CD single on January 6, 2011 through TS Entertainment. The song was written and produced by Kang Jiwon and Kim Kibum. It was remade with Japanese lyrics and was on Secret's first Japanese EP, ''Shy Boy''. Jin Bora (; born November 14, 1987) is a South Korean jazz pianist, composer, music arranger, and CF model. Biography Jin Bora is a professional musician despite her young age. Huh Gak
Huh Gak (; born November 15, 1984) is a South Korean singer. He rose to fame after winning the 2010 Mnet talent competition series ''Superstar K 2,'' during which he became known as "the Korean Paul Potts." Early life and education Huh Gak was born in Incheon, South Korea on November 15, 1984. His parents divorced when he was three years old, and he and his twin brother, Huh Gong, were raised by their father.
