The 2011 LKL All-Star Game was held on March 12, 2011, in Šiauliai Arena. Time Team, composed of foreign players, played against Lietuviai, which was composed of Lithuanian players. Rosters * Dainius Šalenga was replaced by Mindaugas Kuzminskas, because of the termination of his contract with Žalgiris. * Khalid El-Amin was replaced by Rashaun Broadus, due to a serious leg injury. Coaches Antanas Sireika, of Šiauliai, was chosen as the head coach of Team Lietuviai, while Aleksandar Trifunović, of Lietuvos Rytas ''Lietuvos rytas'' (lit. 'Morning of Lithuania') is a Lithuanian daily newspaper. History and profile "Lietuvos rytas" was established in 1990 on a basis of newspaper "Komjaunimo tiesa". Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL) (''English'': Lithuanian Basketball League), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier professional men's club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 12 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including European professional club basketball system, the top-tier level EuroLeague. On April 22, 1993, the Lietuvos krepšinio asociacija (''English'': Lithuanian Basketball Association) (LKA) was founded. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was built on the foundation of the LKA. Former basketball player Šarūnas Marčiulionis is named as the founder of the league. BC Perlas
BC Perlas Energija, is a professional basketball club based in Vilnius, Lithuania, currently competing in the Nacionalinė krepšinio lyga. BC Perlas is a daughter club of the Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius. Perlas club was founded in 2003. Over the decade the team had many variations of its name, but it always had the word "Perlas" (Pearl) in it except during 2012-2013 season, when it was called "Vilnius-MRU". It developed young prospects and became a springboard to professional career for former Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius players, Dovydas Redikas and BC Žalgiris former player Mindaugas Kuzminskas. Ernests Kalve (born April 4, 1987) is a Latvian professional basketball player and assistant coach for BK Ogre of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. Professional career Kalve's first team was Falco/Ķeizarmežs in Latvian Amateur Basketball League. He played in U-18 2005 European Championship, where he was the tournament's top scorer. After that championship he signed with the Italian club Benetton Treviso. After a year with Benetton, he moved to the Giessen 46ers, and he then returned to his home country to play for ASK Riga. Kenan Bajramović (born May 24, 1981) is a Bosnian professional basketball player who last played for Spars Sarajevo of the Bosnian League. Brad Newley (born 18 February 1985) is an Australian professional basketball player for Melbourne United of the National Basketball League (NBL). Khalid El-Amin (born April 25, 1979) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a member of the 1999 University of Connecticut men's basketball team that won the NCAA championship. He is originally from Minnesota where he played for North High School in Minneapolis. In 2000, he was selected in the 2nd round by the Chicago Bulls of the NBA Draft and played 50 games for them, averaging 6.3 points and 2.9 assists per game. Mindaugas Kuzminskas (born 19 October 1989) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Pınar Karşıyaka of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He also represents the Lithuanian national team.
