Kerala Sahitya Akademi
The Kerala Sahitya Akademi or Academy for Malayalam literature is an autonomous body established to promote the Malayalam language and Malayalam literature, literature. It is situated in City of Thrissur, Kerala in India. History The academy was inaugurated on 15 October 1956, by Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the former king of Travancore, in Thiruvananthapuram. It was shifted to its present location at City of Thrissur in September, 1957. Though the Kerala Government provides the funding and support for the academy, the administration of the academy is autonomous according to its constitution. Thrissur
Thrissur (), formerly Trichur, also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur, is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala, India. It is the third largest urban agglomeration in Kerala after Kochi and Kozhikode, and the 21st largest in India. Kureepuzha Sreekumar
Kureepuzha Sreekumar (born 10 April 1955 in Kureepuzha, Kollam, Kerala) is a noted Malayalam poet with modernist inclinations. His books of poetry include ''Habibinte Dinakkurippukal'', his first, published in 1984, ''Sreekumarinte Dukkangal'', ''Rahulan Urangunnilla'', ''Amma Malayalam'', Keezhaalan and ''Suicide Point''. He is an atheist. Career as Writer He won the Best Poet Award in 1975 from Kerala University, the 1987 Vyloppilli Award for Malayalam poetry, and the Kerala Sahithya Akademi Sree Padmanabhaswamy Award for 2003 for the best work in children's literature for his work ''Penangunni''. He refused to accept the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Award as it was named after a Hindu God. Subhash Chandran
Subhash Chandran (born 1972) born in Kerala, India, is a Malayalam novelist, short story writer and journalist best known for the 2010 novel '' Manushyanu Oru Aamukham''. His stories "Vadhakramam", "Sanmargam", "Parudeesa Nashtam" and "Gotham" have been adapted into films. He is the only writer to get Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for both his debut story collection (2001) and debut novel (2011). The Malayalam feature film ''Laptop'' is an adaptation of the short story "Parudeesa Nashtam". Life and career Subhash Chandran was born to Chandrasekharan Pillai and Ponnamma in 1972 in Kadungalloor, near Alwaye, Kerala. After completing his PG in Malayalam and securing the first rank from Mahatma Gandhi University, he ventured into writing. Manushyanu Oru Amukham
''Manushyanu Oru Aamukham'' is a Malayalam debut novel by Subhash Chandran. The novel is set in Thachanakkara, a fictitious village in central Kerala, India, and has the central character named Jithendran. It was originally serialised in ''Mathrubhumi Weekly'' in 2009 and was published as a book by DC Books in 2010. The novel won numerous awards including the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award (2014), Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award (2011), Odakkuzhal Award (2011), FOKANA Award (2012), Bhasha Institute's Basheer Puraskaaram (2012), Kovilan Puraskaaram (2012) and Vayalar Award (2015).
