2011 IRB Nations Cup
The 2011 IRB Nations Cup was the sixth edition of the international rugby union tournament, a competition created by the International Rugby Board. It pits the "A" Teams of the stronger (Tier 1) rugby nations (e.g. Argentina Jaguars) against some Tier 2 and 3 nations (e.g. Romania).See List of international rugby union teams#National teams - tier classification for more information on the Tiers. For the fifth consecutive year the event was held in Bucharest, Romania. Namibia returned to defend their title, but South African Kings were the overall winners of the tournament. The competition format was a modified round-robin whereby the three ENC teams (Romania, Georgia and Portugal) played the other three teams (Argentina Jaguars, Namibia and South African Kings). The competition was played over three match days, with three matches played consecutively on each day. Southern Kings
The Southern Kings were a South African professional rugby union team that competed in Super Rugby and Pro14. They were based in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape province and played their home matches at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. They were created in 2009, and had their first match against the British & Irish Lions during their 2009 tour. After competing in Super Rugby in 2013, 2016 and 2017, they joined Pro14 prior to the 2017–18 season, along with the Cheetahs. Florin Vlaicu (born 26 July 1986 in Bucharest) is a former Romanian rugby union player. He played as a fly half or centre for professional Liga Națională de Rugby club SCM Timișoara. Clint Newland is a New Zealand rugby union player. Career New Zealand Newland was born in Dannevirke and attended New Plymouth Boys' High School as a boarder. In 1999, he made his provincial debut for Hawke's Bay against Poverty Bay in the NPC. He played in the NZ Divisional XV from 2002 to 2005 when the competition was revised to increase the number of NPC teams. He played in every match until 2007 when he was served a 10-week ban for knocking out Wellington prop Neemia Tialata. In 2008, he won selection to the Super Rugby squad.
