2011 Formula Abarth Season
The 2011 Formula Abarth season was the seventh season of the former Formula Abarth, Formula Azzurra, and the second under its guise of "Formula Abarth". It was the first split in European and Italian series. The Italian Championship began on 17 April in ACI Vallelunga Circuit, Vallelunga, while European Championship on 8 May in Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia. They finished together on 16 October in Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Monza. Formula Abarth
Formula Abarth was an open wheel racing series based in Italy and Europe aimed at karting graduates. The inaugural season was in 2010, effectively replacing the Formula Azzurra. Abarth have taken over the supporting Project Youth initiative, that started in 2005.' After the success of 2010 Formula Abarth season, 2010 season, in which competed international drivers and teams, a new European series has been created with a prize offered in collaboration with Ferrari Driver Academy. Jenzer Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Switzerland. Founded in 1993 by Andreas Jenzer the team is currently competing in FIA Formula 3, Italian F4 and F4 Spanish and has had a number of drivers who would turn out to be successful in motorsport, most notably Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda. History In 1993, Jenzer Motorsport was founded by Andreas Jenzer, who was a racing driver and raced in his own team in the German Formula Ford 1800 Championship. Roman Shane de Beer (born 6 October 1994) is a South African racing driver. Career Karting Born in Johannesburg, de Beer began karting in 1999 and raced primarily in his native South Africa for the majority of his karting career, working his way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the Rotax Max category by 2010, and ultimately, winning the ROK Cup International Final. Formula Abarth In 2010, de Beer graduated to single–seaters, moving into the newly launched Formula Abarth series in Italy, with Scuderia Victoria World. Santiago Urrutia Lausarot (born 30 August 1996) is an Uruguayan racing driver. He currently competes in the World Touring Car Cup, driving for Cyan Performance Lynk & Co. He formerly competed in Indy Lights, and was the 2015 Pro Mazda series champion. Racing career Karting and junior formulae Urrutia's motorsport career started at age three in dirt motorcycling on his grandfather's farm, and later moved up to go-kart racing in his native Uruguay at age five. Dustin Sofyan (born 29 July 1994) is an Indonesian racing driver. Career Karting He won third place in the Asian Karting Open Championship - ROK Junior 2006. Asian series Sofyan began his car racing career in his native continent, competing in the Formula BMW Pacific in 2009. He competed in all the races that season and finished in fifth position in the final standings. In 2010, he returned to the Formula BMW Pacific series, where he raced in every round except round 3 in China. He finished seventh in the final standings. He also competed in two rounds of the equivalent Formula BMW Europe, racing in round 5 and 8. EuroInternational is a racing organization (which includes Italian division EuroInternational Srl and American division EuroInternational Inc.) owned by Antonio Ferrari, grandnephew of Enzo Ferrari, formerly known as Euromotorsport. History Originally known as Euromotorsport, the team made its CART debut in 1989 with Jean-Pierre Frey at Phoenix. After Frey was unable to complete the USAC Rookie Orientation Program at Indianapolis, the team signed Davy Jones, who qualified for the Indianapolis 500 and finished in 7th place in his only appearance for the team that year. JD Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Vespolate, Italy that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. History The team was formed in the 1995 by Roberto Cavallari and Alfredo Cappelletti. In 1996 the team started to participate in Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup and had four consecutive titles with Enrique Bernoldi, Jeffrey van Hooydonk, Bruno Besson and Gianmaria Bruni. Career Karting Jörg first began karting in 2007, partaking in numerous championships across Switzerland.
