2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France, from 4 to 6 March 2011. 577 athletes representing 46 countries competed at the championships. Twenty-six track and field events were contested, with the events programme divided equally between the genders. Russia topped the medal table, having won the most gold medals (six), as well as having gained the greatest total with fifteen. The host nation, France, was the next best performing team, with five golds being won by French athletes. Germany had the third highest medal haul, followed by Great Britain. Giuseppe "Peppe" Gibilisco (; born 5 January 1979) is an Italian coach and former pole vaulter, who won the 2003 World Championships with a personal best of 5.90 m. He followed this with a bronze medal in the 2004 Olympics. He also competed in four-man bobsleigh in two race of the 2016–17 Bobsleigh World Cup finishing 25th and 28th. Alhaji Jeng (born 13 December 1981) is a Swedish pole vaulter. Jeng came to Sweden when he was just 3 months old, but retained his Gambian citizenship until he was 18 years old, when he applied for and was granted Swedish citizenship. He currently has the Gambian national record at 5.30 metres, set before his Swedish citizenship. For Sweden he won the silver medal at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships he has also won 5 Swedish championships in athletics.
