2011 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters
The 2011 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season was a multi-event motor racing series largely based in Germany for highly modified touring car racing, touring car racing cars and is one of the most popular sedan car-based motor racing series in the world. The series features professional racing teams and drivers and is heavily supported by car manufacturers Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Each race features 18 V8-powered racing cars built according to the technical regulations of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. It was the twenty-fifth season of premier German touring car championship and also twelfth season under the moniker of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters since the series' resumption in 2000. It was the final season running the 4-door saloon-style spec cars, which has been the series' sole car style requirements since 2005 (although 4-door saloon-style spec cars were introduced majorly in 2004 but few coupé cars were also featured due to cost reasons). Martin Tomczyk
Martin Tomczyk (born 7 December 1981) is a German professional racing driver, and BMW Motorsport works driver. He was the DTM champion in 2011, third in 2007, fourth in 2006 and fifth in 2004, having won eight races. Racing career After a karting career, he raced in Formula BMW and Formula Three, where he finished 12th in 2000. In 2001 he moved up to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. In 2000 his best result was a fourth place on the Nürburgring where he also took the fastest of the race. He took his first pole position in Hockenheim 2002 but he retired from the race. In 2004 he took his first podium in Estoril. During 2004 he also finished second in Zandvoort, Oschersleben and Hockenheim on his way to finish fifth in the championship. 2011 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The 79th 24 Hours of Le Mans (French: ''79e 24 Heures du Mans'') was an 24-hour automobile endurance race for Le Mans Prototype (LMP) and Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance (LMGTE) cars. The race was held from 11 to 12 June 2011 at the Circuit de la Sarthe, near Le Mans, France, before 249,500 spectators. It was the third round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, and the 79th edition of the event as organised by the automotive group the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) since 1923. A test day was held six weeks prior on 24 April. An Audi R18 TDI—driven by Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer, and Benoît Tréluyer—started from the pole position, after Tréluyer ran the fastest lap in the third qualifying session. He is currently employed by Audi Sport Team Rosberg in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) touring car championship. Early career Green was born in Leicester. At the age of 10, he entered BriSCA Ministox and won the British Championship in his first season. He then progressed to karting, finishing runner-up in the Junior TKM series in 1996. In 1997, he moved up to the Junior ICA Winter Series, in which he won the title, and finished runner-up in the ''McLaren Mercedes Champions of the Future'' series. Ralf Schumacher
Ralf Schumacher (born 30 June 1975) is a German former racing driver. He is the younger brother of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher, and the pair are the only siblings to each win Formula One races. Schumacher began karting at the age of three and achieved early success before making the transition to automobile racing in the German Formula Three Championship and the Formula Nippon series. He first drove in Formula One with Jordan Grand Prix for the 1997 season. Schumacher moved to the Williams team in 1999, finishing sixth in the Drivers' Championship that year. Gary Paffett
Gary Paffett (born 24 March 1981 in Bromley) is a British racing driver. Having become a household name in the DTM, following fifteen years in the series and two championship wins, Paffett moved onto Formula E for the 2018/19 championship, after it was announced in 2017 that Mercedes would no longer be taking part in DTM. Paffett was also a test driver for the Williams Formula One team, having previously worked in a similar role at McLaren for a number of years, during the team's successful title winning years. HWA Team
HWA Team, also known as HWA RACELAB, is the auto racing team of HWA AG, a German company based in Affalterbach, that also develops and builds vehicles and components for Mercedes-AMG race cars. It is named after founder Hans-Werner Aufrecht. History HWA was responsible for managing the AMG Mercedes team in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). HWA AG was founded in 1999, and takes its name from Hans-Werner Aufrecht, who established AMG in 1967. Towards the end of 1998 Aufrecht sold a majority interest in AMG to DaimlerChrysler AG. The Mercedes-Benz AMG C-Class W204 DTM is a DTM-championship touring car constructed by the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. It was the facelift version of the Mercedes-Benz AMG C-Class W203 DTM and based on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204 second generation car. The Mercedes-Benz AMG C-Class W204 DTM was unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. 2010 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters Season
The 2010 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters was the twenty-fourth season of premier German touring car championship and also eleventh season under the moniker of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters since the series' resumption in 2000. The season began on 25 April at the Hockenheimring, and ended on 28 November at the Shanghai Street Circuit, after eleven rounds held in Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy and China. Having finished second in 2008 and third in 2009, HWA Team's Paul di Resta became champion for the first time, having come out on top of a three-way title battle in Shanghai. 2010 season would be Dunlop's final season as the sole tyre supplier in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters as the company announced on 19 November 2010 that it would not renew its contract at the end of the season.
