2011 Damallsvenskan
The 2011 Damallsvenskan was the 39th edition of the premier women's soccer, women's football championship in Sweden, and the 24th season of the Damallsvenskan era. Contested by twelve teams, it ran from 9 April to 15 October 2011. 2010 Damallsvenskan, Defending champion FC Rosengård, LdB FC Malmö won its sixth title with a one-point advantage over Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, which also repeated as the runner-up, qualifying too for the 2012–13 UEFA Women's Champions League. Umeå IK, Tyresö FF and KIF Örebro followed in the table within a ten points distance. On the other hand, 1985 champion Hammarby IF DFF, Hammarby IF and newly promoted Dalsjöfors GoIF were relegated as the two bottom teams. With 16 goals Malmö's Manon Melis's repeated as the season's top scorer, ex-aequo with 7th-placed Kristianstads DFF's Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir. Damallsvenskan
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Since its inception, the Damallsvenskan has featured star players like Marta, Daniela, Nadine Angerer, Lisa De Vanna, Hope Solo, Christen Press, and Hanna Ljungberg. Johanna Maria-Therese Almgren (born 22 March 1984) is a Swedish former football midfielder who played for Damallsvenskan club Göteborg FC and the Swedish national team. Almgren's career was marred by injuries. In May 2013 she was devastated to be ruled out of UEFA Women's Euro 2013, requiring surgery on her knee for the fifth time. Fridolina Rolfö (born 24 November 1993) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish Liga F club FC Barcelona and the Sweden women's national team. Sanna Reetta Talonen (born 15 June 1984) is a retired Finnish football forward. She last played in the Swedish Damallsvenskan for KIF Örebro, a club she represented for seven seasons, scoring 54 league goals. Annica Maria Sjölund (born 31 March 1985) is a Finnish football striker, who last played for Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC of Sweden's Damallsvenskan. She previously played for FC United Pietarsaari and Åland United in Finland's Naisten Liiga and Jitex BK, Älvsjö AIK and AIK in Sweden. Linnea Viktoria Liljegärd (born 8 December 1988) is a Swedish former footballer who played for the Sweden women's national football team as well as professional clubs in Sweden, Norway and Russia. Club career Liljegärd was raised in Vårgårda and began her career with Skogsbygdens IF. After three years with Falköpings KIK she joined Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in 2008. Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir (born 29 September 1990) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Italian Serie A club Juventus FC and captains the Iceland women's national team. Ramona Bachmann (born 25 December 1990) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a forward for Division 1 Féminine club Paris Saint-Germain and the Switzerland national team. Sara Viktoria Lindén (born 1 September 1983) is a Swedish football striker, who played for Göteborg FC in the Damallsvenskan. In September 2008 Lindén was drafted into the senior Swedish national team for a pair of Euro 2009 qualifying matches against Romania and Ireland. She replaced Göteborg teammate Johanna Almgren who was injured. Madelaine Nathalie Edlund (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish former footballer who played for the Swedish national team and clubs including Umeå, Tyresö and Saint Louis Athletica.
