2011 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2011 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 102nd staging of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1909. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 12 December 2010. The championship began on 27 May 2011 and ended on 2 October 2011. On 2 October 2011, Bandon won the championship following a 2-14 to 0-07 defeat of Fr. O'Neill's in the final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. This was their third championship title overall and their first title since 1974. Bandon's Ronan Crowley was the championship's top scorer with 1-39. ''The Echo'', formerly known as the ''Evening Echo'', is an Irish morning newspaper based in Cork. It is distributed throughout the province of Munster, although it is primarily read in its base city of Cork. City Junior A Hurling Championship
The City Junior A Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the BCE Consulting Engineers City Junior A Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Seandún Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1926 for junior-graded hurling teams in Cork, Ireland. The series of games are usually played during the summer months. The championship uses a double elimination format whereby each team is guaranteed at least two games. The City Junior Championship is an integral part of the wider Cork Junior A Hurling Championship. The winners of the City Championship join their counterparts from the other six divisions to contest the county championship. 11 clubs currently participate in the City Championship. Kilworth GAA
Kilworth GAA, or ''Cill Úird'', is a hurling and Gaelic football club located in the village of Kilworth in the north-eastern corner of County Cork, Ireland. It is affiliated to Cork GAA county board and to Avondhu GAA divisional board. History It was affiliated in 1928 as a football Club and 1933 as a hurling Club, and two years later saw Kilworth gain their first honours when they captured the Novice hurling championship at Dromina's expense. A long period elapsed before Kilworth once again tasted championship success, this being the 1961 North Cork Junior hurling championship. Kildorrery were the opponents on the day but Kilworth proved too strong winning out on a score line of 3–5 to 1–4. Cloughduv GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the village of Cloughduv in County Cork, Ireland. The club is a member of the Muskerry division of Cork GAA. The club fields hurling team only. There are two Gaelic football clubs in the parish (Kilmurry parish) - Canovee and Kilmurry - and there is often an overlap of players between the different clubs. Barryoe GAA club is a Gaelic football and Hurling club in the parish of Barryroe in County Cork, Ireland. It draws its players from the villages of Courtmacsherry, Butlerstown, Lislevane and surrounding areas. The club participates in the south west Cork (Carbery) division of Cork and operates at Intermediate A level in hurling and Junior A in football. Blackrock National Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located on the southside of Cork City, Ireland. The club was founded in 1883 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. No other Cork-based GAA club has won more Senior County Hurling titles or All-Ireland Club Championships. Lisgoold GAA Club is a gaelic football, hurling and ladies football club based in the village of Lisgoold, County Cork, Ireland. The club draws its support from Leamlara, Ballincurrig, Peafield and Lisgoold itself. The club fields teams in Cork GAA and Imokilly GAA divisional competitions. History The club was founded in 1887. Fermoy GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the town of Fermoy, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in competitions organized by the Cork GAA county board and the Avondhu GAA divisional board. The club plays both Gaelic football and hurling.
