2011 Baylor Bears Football Team
The 2011 Baylor Bears football team represented Baylor University in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Art Briles and played their home games at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas. They are members of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 10–3, 6–3 in Big 12 play to finish in a tie for third place with Oklahoma (whom they defeated during the season). The ten wins tied a school record for wins in a season while the 6–3 conference record is its best since joining the Big 12. They were invited to the Alamo Bowl where they beat Washington, 67–56, for their first bowl win since the 1992 John Hancock Bowl. Junior starting quarterback Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy, becoming the first Baylor player to win the award. Recruiting Baylor's recruiting class was ranked #46 by Rivals.com and #50 by Scout.com.

Art Briles
Arthur Ray Briles (born December 3, 1955) is an American football coach who is currently the head coach for the Guelfi Firenze in the Italian Football League. Briles was the head coach of the Houston Cougars from 2002 to 2007 and the Baylor Bears from 2008 to 2015. His college coaching career ended with his dismissal from the team in 2015 as a result of the Baylor University sexual assault scandal. He is the author of ''Beating Goliath: My Story of Football and Faith'' (2014). He is the subject of a biography written by Nick Eatman entitled ''Looking Up: My Journey to Hell'' (2013). Nicolas Daryl Florence (born June 21, 1989) is a former American football quarterback for the Baylor Bears. High school career Florence attended South Garland High School in Garland, Texas. During this career, he threw for 8,001 yards and 87 touchdowns. He was rated a three-star recruit by the Rivals.com recruiting service, and ranked as the 22nd-best dual-threat quarterback recruit in his class by Rivals. College career As a true freshman in 2009, Florence started the season as the third-string quarterback. Terrance Tyrone Williams (born September 8, 1989) is an American football wide receiver for the Zappers of Fan Controlled Football (FCF).
