Rayo Vallecano (women)
Rayo Vallecano Femenino is the women's football section of Madrid-based club Rayo Vallecano, currently playing in the Primera Federación. Between 2008 and 2011 it won three national championships and one national cup. History Rayo Vallecano established its women's team in 2000, absorbing local club CD El Buen Retiro. In 2003 it earned promotion to the top league, and after two seasons in mid-table it established itself in the top positions from 2006. The team's golden era started in 2008, winning the national cup and narrowly missing a double, with Levante UD winning the championship on goal average. This first trophy was followed by three championships in a row until 2011, becoming the second team to achieve this after Athletic Bilbao. Rayo Vallecano thus took part in the first three editions of the UEFA Women's Champions League after its relaunch in 2010. Valencia CF Femenino, previously Asociación Deportiva DSV Colegio Alemán, is a Spanish women's football team from Valencia currently playing in Spain's top league Liga F. History A modest club founded back on 25 November 2000 within the German School in Valencia (DSV), Colegio Alemán attained promotion to the Superliga Femenina for the 2007–08 season. Both in it and the following season the team ranked third from last, narrowly avoiding relegation. On 26 May 2009 the club announced an agreement had been reached with Valencia CF to turn Colegio Aleman's teams into VCF's women section. 2011–12 Segunda División (women)
The 2011–12 Segunda División de Fútbol Femenino was the 21st edition of the second category of the Spanish women's football national championship. The competition was renamed, having been previously known as Primera Nacional, and a seventh group was created; the groups were rearranged and redistributed by regions as shown in the table below. The promotion play-offs were consequently expanded from six to eight teams, and held as two single-match rounds instead of two triangulars. Escola Valls Futbol is a Spanish football club from Valls, Tarragona best known for its women's team, formerly known as CFF Tortosa-Ebre and Gimnàstic Tarragona, which currently plays in Segunda División. Other than it, the club is centered in formative football. History CFF Tortosa-Ebre played in the second tier between 1995 and 2009, mostly ranking in the middle positions.
