2010–11 Stanbic Bank 20 Series
The 2010–11 Stanbic Bank 20 Series was a Twenty20 cricket competition held in Zimbabwe from 13 – 21 November 2010. It was won by the Mashonaland Eagles, who defeated the Mid West Rhinos in the final by one run. The Eagles finished the group stage of the competition as the top team, losing only one match of the four-match round-robin. They then edged past the Tuskers in the first semi-final, winning a low-scoring match with their final pair of batsmen, passing their opponent's total of 70 with just nine balls remaining. They met the Rhinos in the final, where thanks to 74 runs from Nick Compton, a late unbeaten 39 runs off 17 balls from Andrew Hall, and economical bowling from Ray Price, they won by just one run. Compton finished the competition as the leading run-scorer, amassing 233 runs from his six matches, at an average of 38.83. Zimbabwe Cricket
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC), previously known as the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) until 2004, is the governing body for the sport of cricket in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe Cricket is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), and administers the Zimbabwe national cricket team, organising Test tours, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals with other nations. It also organises domestic cricket, including the Castle Logan Cup, the Coca-Cola Metbank Pro50 Championship and the Stanbic Bank 20 Series in Zimbabwe. Ray Price (cricketer)
Raymond William Price (born 12 June 1976) is a former Zimbabwean international cricketer. He bowls left-arm orthodox spin. He is the nephew of the renowned Zimbabwean golfer Nick Price. Early life Price was born two months prematurely and contracted meningitis when he was a few months old. He was given only a one in four chance of survival, but he survived it. However, although it was not realised for some time, he was left totally deaf by the disease. When he was four, he had an operation to regain his hearing. The operation was successful, but left him with terrible coordination difficulties. He was consequently some way behind his age group when he went to school. Price first played cricket with friends in his back garden. When he was at primary school he was a pace bowler, but took up spin at Watershed College, a boarding school near Marondera. Harare Sports Club is a sports club and the Harare Sports Club Ground is a cricket stadium in Harare, Zimbabwe. Founded in 1900 and known as Salisbury Sports Club until 1982, it is mostly used for cricket matches, and has served as the primary cricket venue in Rhodesia and Zimbabwe since its foundation. Keagan Meth
Keegan Orry Meth (born 8 February 1988) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He plays domestically for the Matabeleland Tuskers and has represented Zimbabwe in One Day Internationals (ODIs). An all-rounder, he bowls right-arm medium-fast and generally bats in the lower middle order. Early life and education He attended Whitestone School, Falcon College, St Georges College Harare and subsequently Christian Brothers College. Christopher Mpofu
Christopher Bobby "Chris" Mpofu (born 27 November 1985) is a Zimbabwean international cricketer. He has represented Zimbabwe at Test, ODI and Twenty20 International level. Early life and career Mpofu spent time in Brisbane, Australia at the National Performance Centre. He was coached by former Australian fast bowler, Damien Fleming. Mpofu made his first-class debut for Matabeleland against Manicaland in March 2004, taking three wickets on debut. Ryan Ten Doeschate
Ryan Neil ten Doeschate (; born 30 June 1980) is a former Dutch–South African cricketer who played for the Netherlands national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. Ten Doeschate was named ICC Associate Player of the Year on a record three occasions, in 2008, 2010, and 2011. Born and raised in South Africa, ten Doeschate signed with Essex County Cricket Club in England for the 2003 English season, qualifying through his Dutch citizenship as a domestic player. Neil Miller Carter (born 29 January 1975), is a South African-born cricketer who has played international cricket for Scotland. He previously played county cricket for Warwickshire. Mountaineers Cricket Team
The Mountaineers is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team, based in the Manicaland and Mashonaland East area. They play their home matches at Mutare Sports Club in Mutare. Franchise History Following the decline of the standards of cricket in Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Cricket decided to use a new set of teams for all the first-class, List A and Twenty20 formats of the domestic game. Matabeleland Tuskers
The Matabeleland Tuskers is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team, based in the Bulawayo Metropolitan and Matabeleland North area. They play their home matches at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. They were formed in 2009, when the domestic game in Zimbabwean cricket was restructured. History In their first season, they suffered disappointing results, placing fourth in the Logan Cup, and failing to qualify for the final of either the one-day or Twenty20 competitions.
