2010–11 Indiana Pacers Season
The 2010–11 Indiana Pacers season was Indiana's 44th season as a franchise and 35th season in the NBA. With a victory over the Washington Wizards on April 6, 2011, the Pacers clinched their first playoff berth since 2006. However, a first round loss to eventual league MVP Derrick Rose and the top-seeded Chicago Bulls ended the season for the Pacers. On January 30, head coach Jim O'Brien was fired. Jim O'Brien (basketball, Born 1952)
James Francis Xavier O'Brien (born February 11, 1952) is an American basketball coach who is currently senior advisor for the Philadelphia 76ers. O'Brien was previously an assistant and head coach at both the college and NBA levels and was head coach at Wheeling Jesuit from 1982 to 1987, Dayton from 1989 to 1994, the Boston Celtics from 2001 to 2004, Philadelphia 76ers in 2004–05, and Indiana Pacers from 2007 to 2011. Early life and education O'Brien is the son-in-law of Hall of Fame coach Jack Ramsay. Born and raised in Philadelphia, O'Brien graduated from Roman Catholic High School of Philadelphia in 1970 and St. Joseph's University in 1974. Roy Hibbert
Roy Denzil Hibbert (born December 11, 1986) is a Jamaican-American former professional basketball player. He is a two-time NBA All-Star, and earned NBA All-Defensive Second Team honors in 2014. Hibbert was the runner-up for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in the 2013-14 NBA season, placing second behind Joakim Noah. Hibbert played college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas and was named a consensus second-team All-American as a senior in 2008. Walter Lee McCarty (born February 1, 1974) is an American basketball coach and former professional player. McCarty played for the NBA's New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and the Los Angeles Clippers. He last served as head coach of the Evansville Purple Aces. Daniel P. Burke (born April 3, 1959, in Lynwood, California) is an American basketball coach who serves as assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Ryan Rupert Reid (born October 30, 1986) is an American-born Jamaican professional basketball player for the Kanazawa Samuraiz of Japanese B.League. Reid played college basketball with the Florida State Seminoles. After four years in college, he was drafted by the Indiana Pacers with the 57th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. After the draft, his draft rights were immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
