2010–11 Greenock Morton F.C. Season
Season 2010–11 saw Greenock Morton compete in their fourth consecutive season in the First Division, having defeated Ayr United on the last day of the 2009–10 season. Story of the season May James Grady and his assistant Allan McManus (signed for Dumbarton) were sacked on 9 May, after eight months in charge. Ryan McGuffie signed a pre-contract agreement with hometown club Queen of the South. Erik Paartalu returned home to Australia to sign for Brisbane Roar. Morton release 7 other players, although they may still be re-signed by the new manager when he is appointed. Brian Graham accepted a new deal and Colin Stewart was offered new terms. Greenock (; sco, Greenock; gd, Grianaig, ) is a town and administrative centre in the Inverclyde council area in Scotland, United Kingdom and a former burgh within the historic county of Renfrewshire, located in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. It forms part of a contiguous urban area with Gourock to the west and Port Glasgow to the east. The 2011 UK Census showed that Greenock had a population of 44,248, a decrease from the 46,861 recorded in the 2001 UK Census. Brisbane Roar Football Club is an Australian professional association football, soccer club based in Brisbane, Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland and has won the domestic title on three occasions, as well as holding the longest unbeaten record of 36 league matches without defeat. Erik Paartalu
Erik Endel Paartalu (born 3 May 1986) is an Australian professional footballer of Estonian descent who plays as a defensive midfielder. He has played professionally in Scotland, Australia, China, Qatar, South Korea, Thailand and India. Club career NSL Paartalu began his career with Northern Spirit in the National Soccer League, after stints with the Spirit youth team and the New South Wales Institute of Sport. His NSL career at the Spirit was however limited to a single appearance as a substitute on 11 January 2004 against the Melbourne Knights. After the dissolution of the Northern Spirit, Paartalu moved to the Northern Tigers in the New South Wales Winter Super League where he played 17 matches scoring four goals in the 2004 season. Greenock Telegraph
The Greenock Telegraph is a local daily newspaper serving Inverclyde (the council area containing the towns of Gourock, Greenock and Port Glasgow), Scotland. Founded in 1857, it was the first halfpenny daily newspaper in Britain. It was for a time Greenock Telegraph and Clyde Shipping Gazette, owing to the massive amount of maritime traffic moving in and out of Greenock's harbours. This information is still published, but only as a column entry. Originally based in Charles Street, Greenock, the printing works were bombed during the Greenock Blitz in May 1941. However the printers worked on to produce emergency editions, despite sustaining multiple cuts from the shattered glass lodged in the presses. Ryan McGuffie (born 22 July 1980 in Dumfries, Scotland) is a Scottish former professional footballer who last played for Australian club St Albans Saints. McGuffie is a utility player who can line up in either defence or midfield. Career Early career Ryan McGuffie played two trial matches for home town club Queen of the South during the pre season of 2002–03. McGuffie started at home versus Barnsley and appeared as a substitute away to Southport. His brother Russell played one league match for Queens in 1999. Dumbarton (; also sco, Dumbairton; ) is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, on the north bank of the River Clyde where the River Leven flows into the Clyde estuary. Allan McManus
Allan William McManus (born 17 November 1974 in Paisley, Renfrewshire) is a Scottish former professional football player and coach. He played for Hearts, Livingston, Alloa Athletic, Ayr United, Airdrie United, St Johnstone, Greenock Morton, Dumbarton, Arbroath and the now defunct Airdrie.
