Playoff Format
There are a number of formats used in various levels of competition in sports and games to determine an overall champion. Some of the most common are the ''single elimination'', the ''best-of-'' series, the ''total points series'' more commonly known as ''on aggregate'', and the ''round-robin tournament''. Single elimination A single-elimination ("knockout") playoff pits the participants in one-game matches, with the loser being dropped from the competition. Single-elimination tournaments are often used in individual sports like tennis. In most tennis tournaments, the players are seeded against each other, and the winner of each match continues to the next round, all the way to the final. When a playoff of this type involves the top four teams, it is sometimes known as the Shaughnessy playoff system, after Frank Shaughnessy, who first developed it for the International League of minor league baseball. Miloš Teodosić
Miloš Teodosić ( sr-cyr, Милош Теодосић, born March 19, 1987) is a Serbian professional basketball player for Virtus Bologna of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the EuroLeague. He also represents the National Basketball Team of Serbia internationally. He primarily plays the point guard and shooting guard positions. He is a six time All-EuroLeague selection, and was voted EuroLeague MVP in 2010. Teodosić helped the Serbian national team win a EuroBasket silver medal in 2009, as well as a FIBA Basketball World Cup silver medal in 2014, being elected to the All-Tournament Team in both competitions. He also won an Olympic silver medal at the 2016 Rio Games. He was named FIBA Europe Player of the Year in 2010, and in 2016, he was voted the best non-NBA player in the world by NBA coaches, as well as the European Player of the Year by ''La Gazzetta dello Sport''. Bradley Beal
Bradley Emmanuel Beal Sr. (born June 28, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Florida Gators before being selected by the Wizards with the third overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. Beal was selected in the 2013 NBA All-Rookie First Team, and is a three-time NBA All-Star. High school career Beal attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis, Missouri. He competed for the US in the 2010 FIBA Under-17 World Championship, winning the championship while averaging 18 points per game. In addition to winning the tournament, Beal made the All-Tournament Team and won the MVP award. During his senior year of high school, Beal averaged 32.5 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game.
