Association Football
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Traditionally, the game has been played over two 45 minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. The 2009 Thai League Division 1 has 16 teams. Rules *Teams play each other twice on a home and away basis *3 Points for a win *1 Point for a draw *Teams finishing on same points at the end of the season use head-to-head record to determine finishing position. *The top three teams will be promoted to Thai Premier League, Premier League. *The top team as champions. *The bottom three teams will be relegated to Regional League Division 2, Division 2. Buriram (, , , 'city of happiness') is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in Thailand, capital of Buriram Province, about northeast of Bangkok. The town occupies ''tambon'' Nai Mueang of Mueang Buriram District. In 2012 it had a population of 27,862. History Almost a thousand years ago, the present-day Buriram was part of the Khmer Empire. Pongphan Wongsuwan (10 January 1951 - 4 February 2012) nicknamed Kok, was a manager of Thailand Premier League side TOT FC. He led the side to the Thailand Division 1 League title in 2003 and the Thailand Provincial League title in 2006. In the 2010 season he was the technical Director of Army United F.C. He was the younger brother of Prawit Wongsuwan, former List of Defence Ministers of Thailand, Thailand's Minister of Defence and former National Police Chief Patcharawat Wongsuwan. Jadet Meelarp ( th, จเด็จ มีลาภ; born January 17, 1972), simply known as Sir Det ( th, เซอร์เด็จ), is a Thai football manager who is currently the head coach of Thai League 2 club Customs Ladkrabang United and who is currently the technical consultant of Thailand U-23. Managerial career Jadet took over the role from Thai footballer and manager Withaya Laohakul who went on to coach in Japan. Jadet led Chonburi in their first season in Asian competition, overcoming a strong Melbourne Victory outfit 3-1 in a game played in Bangkok. Chonburi ( th, ชลบุรี, , IAST: , ) is the capital of Chonburi Province and Mueang Chonburi District in Thailand. It is about 100 km southeast of Bangkok, on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Kiatisuk Senamuang
Kiatisuk Senamuang ( th, เกียรติศักดิ์ เสนาเมือง; born 11 August 1973) is a Thai football manager and former footballer (played between 1989 and October 2007) who is manager of V.League 1 club Hoàng Anh Gia Lai. He is nicknamed "Thai Zico" by fans. During his eighteen-year career Kiatisuk played as a striker and scored 251 goals in 339 appearances. The former striker played for clubs in Malaysia, Singapore, England and Vietnam as well as in his homeland. Kiatisuk also earned 131 caps and scored 70 goals for Thailand between 1992 and 2007. In 1996, while playing for Raj Pracha FC Kiatisuk scored 127 goals in 71 games, achieving an (unrecognised) record as top scorer.
