2010 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2010 World Junior Figure Skating Championships was an international competition in the 2009–10 season. Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the annual event awards medals in the disciplines men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. 2009–10 Figure Skating Season
The 2009–10 figure skating season began on 1 July 2009, and ended on 30 June 2010. During this season, elite skaters competed at the Olympic level at the 2010 Winter Olympics, on the ISU Championship level at the 2010 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They also competed in elite competitions such as the 2009–10 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Season notes It was the final season in which the compulsory dance and the original dance were contested in ice dance. Following this season, the International Skating Union instituted the short dance. Short Program (figure Skating)
The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program. It lasts, for both senior and junior singles and pair skaters, 2 minutes and 40 seconds. In synchronized skating, for both juniors and seniors, the short program lasts 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Vocal music with lyrics is allowed for all disciplines since the 2014-2015 season. The short program for single skaters and for pair skaters consists of seven required elements, and there are six required elements for synchronized skaters. Francisco Javier Raya Buenache (born 20 April 1991) is a Spanish figure skater. He is the 2011 Spanish Figure Skating Championships, Spanish national senior champion and has competed in the free skate at eight ISU Figure Skating Championships, ISU Championships. Personal life Francisco Javier Raya Buenache was born on 20 April 1991 in Madrid. He studied ballet from the age of six until he was 17. He is studying audiovisual communication at the Complutense University of Madrid. Raya is openly gay. Career Raya began skating in 1998 at a rink near Madrid's Chamartín railway station. Armin Mahbanoozadeh (born August 15, 1991) is an Iranian American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2010 Skate America bronze medalist and the 2012 U.S. national pewter medalist. He is also a two-time ISU Junior Grand Prix Final medalist ( 2008 silver, 2007 bronze) and the 2007 U.S. novice champion. Denis Yurievich Ten ( kk, Денис Юрийұлы Тен; russian: Денис Юрьевич Тен; 13 June 1993 – 19 July 2018) was a Kazakhstani figure skater. He is the 2011 World Junior champion, 2010 JGP Final bronze medallist, and 2013 Canadian national bronze medallist. Personal life Andrei Rogozine was born January 29, 1993, in Moscow, Russia. Grant Hochstein
Grant Hochstein (born July 16, 1990) is an American former figure skater. He is the 2016 CS Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist and a two-time U.S. national pewter medalist (2016, 2017). He has finished in the top ten at three ISU Championships, including the 2016 World Championships. Personal life Hochstein was born on July 16, 1990 in Warren, Michigan. Keegan Messing (born January 23, 1992) is a Canadian-American figure skater. Representing Canada, he has competed at two Winter Olympic Games in 2018 and 2022.
