The women's 100 metre backstroke competition at the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships took place on August 18 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. The 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships – Women's 100 metre freestyle, last champion was Hanae Ito of Japan. This race consisted of two lengths of the pool, all in backstroke. Sophie Jane Edington (born 12 December 1984) is an Australian backstroke and freestyle swimmer. Biography Edington trained at the Kingscliff ASC club under Greg Salter. After Salter took up an overseas coaching role Edington moved to Queensland to train under the QAS program from the end of 2008. In 2010, she moved to Melbourne where she trained at MSAC. At the 2005 World Aquatics Championships in Montréal she won two gold medals, with the backstroke leg in 4×100-metre medley relay, and as a heat swimmer in the 4×100-metre freestyle relay. She won three gold medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne: 50-metre and 100-metre backstroke, and the 4×100-metre medley relay in world record time of 3:56.30 seconds with teammates Leisel Jones, Libby Lenton and Jessicah Schipper. Grace Elizabeth Loh (born 1 August 1991) is a competitive Australian swimmer. She was Australia's first World Junior Swimming Champion. Loh won the women's 50m and 100m backstroke events at the 2nd FINA Youth World Swimming Championships in Monterrey, Mexico. The competition ran from 8 to 13 July 2008, and attracted over 600 swimmers from over 66 countries with strong contingents from major swimming nations (including USA, Great Britain, Russia and Japan). At the Australian Short Course Championship held in Melbourne from 20–24 September 2008, Loh won her first national title in the 100m backstroke, following up with a silver medal in the 50m sprint event. Elizabeth Anne Pelton (born November 26, 1993) is an American former competitive swimmer and multi FINA world champion. Personal Pelton is an American swimmer and multiple FINA World Champion. She has been competing against at the world's best since 2009, at the age of 15. Pelton grew up in Fairfield, CT and swam for the Wilton Wahoos before moving to swim at Badger Swim Club in Larchmont, NY under esteemed coach John Collins. In 2006, Pelton moved to Baltimore, MD to swim with North Baltimore Aquatic Club, one of the most elite swim programs in the world.
