2010 Oklahoma Sooners Football Team
The 2010 Oklahoma Sooners football team represented the University of Oklahoma in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season, the 116th season of Sooner football. The team was led by two-time Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award winner, Bob Stoops, in his 12th season as head coach. They played their home games at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. They were a charter member of the Big 12 Conference. Conference play began with a win in the annual Red River Rivalry over the Texas Longhorns on October 2, and concluded with a win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Big 12 Championship Game on December 4. The Sooners finished the regular season with an 11–2 record (6–2 in Big 12) while winning their seventh Big 12 title and their 43rd conference title overall. Bob Stoops
Robert Anthony Stoops (born September 9, 1960) is an American football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1999 through the 2016 season, and on an interim basis during the 2021 Alamo Bowl. He led the Oklahoma Sooners to a record of 191–48 over his career. His 2000 Oklahoma Sooners football team won the 2001 Orange Bowl, which served as the BCS National Championship Game, and earned a consensus national championship. Since 2020, Stoops has been a head coach with the XFL, coaching the Arlington Renegades in 2020 and has been re-signed for 2023. Stoops played college football at the University of Iowa as a defensive back from 1979 to 1982. Geneo Grissom
Geneo Grissom (born June 4, 1992) is a former American football defensive end. He played college football at the University of Oklahoma. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round with the 97th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. College career After redshirting in 2010 with the Sooners, Grissom played as a reserve defensive tackle in 2011 and 2012, picking up 9 total tackles and one tackle for a loss. In 2013, Grissom saw his first career start come against ULM Warhawks in which he recorded two tackles. His first interception came on October 12 against the Texas Longhorns, which he returned 54 yards for a touchdown. Roy Finch (American Football)
Roy Finch (born October 1, 1991) is a former professional American and Canadian football running back and return specialist. He was signed by the New England Patriots of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners. He has also been a member of the Ottawa Redblacks and Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Aaron Colvin
Aaron Colvin (born October 2, 1991) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Oklahoma and was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Houston Texans. High school Colvin attended Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma, where he played high school football. Blake M. Bell (born August 7, 1991) is an American football tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Quinton Carter (born July 20, 1988) is a businessman and former American football free safety. DeMarco Murray
DeMarco Murray (born February 12, 1988) is an American football coach and former running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. A three-time Pro Bowl selection and one-time first-team All-Pro, he was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 when he led the NFL in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Murray played college football at Oklahoma and was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. The 2010 Texas Longhorns football team (variously "Texas", "UT", the "Longhorns", or the "'Horns") represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season.
