2010 NHL Draft
The 2010 NHL Entry Draft was the 48th NHL Entry Draft, held on June 25–26, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, home arena of the Los Angeles Kings. This was the first time Los Angeles hosted the NHL Entry Draft. An unofficial record of eleven American-trained players were selected in the first round, starting with Jack Campbell and ending with Brock Nelson. Staples Center
Crypto.com Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Downtown Los Angeles. Adjacent to the L.A. Live development, it is located next to the Los Angeles Convention Center complex along Figueroa Street. The arena opened on October 17, 1999; it was famously known as Staples Center until December 2021 when Crypto.com acquired the naming rights. It is owned and operated by the Arturo L.A. Centre (ice Hockey)
The centre (or center in the United States) in ice hockey is a forward (hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Centres have more flexibility in their positioning and therefore often end up covering more ice surface than any other player. Centres are ideally strong, fast skaters who are able to Checking (ice hockey), back-check quickly from deep in the opposing zone. Mark Pysyk
Mark Alexander Terrance Pysyk (born January 11, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and forward for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Pysyk was originally selected in the first round, 23rd overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Personal life Pysyk was born on January 11, 1992, to Ukrainian parents Sherry and Terry. His mother is a nurse at University of Alberta Hospitals and his father is a vice-principal. Born in Edmonton, Pysyk and his family moved to Sherwood Park while he was in the third grade. As such, Pysyk played his minor hockey in the Sherwood Park program. Maxim Kitsyn
Maxim Alekseyevich Kitsyn (russian: Максим Алексеевич Кицын; born December 24, 1991) is a Russian professional ice hockey player currently under contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk of the Supreme Hockey League (VHL). He has previously played in the Kontinental Hockey League with Metallurg Novokuznetsk, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and Admiral Vladivostok. Playing career Kitsyn was drafted 158th overall in 2010 by the Los Angeles Kings. On July 10, 2013, Kitsyn was signed to a three-year entry level contract with the Kings. Brandon Gormley
Brandon Gormley (born February 18, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for HC Sochi of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He was selected 13th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. During his junior career, he was named to the QMJHL All-Rookie Team, is a two-time QMJHL Second Team All-Star and won the President's Cup with the Wildcats in 2010. Ludvig Rensfeldt (born January 29, 1992) is a Swedish ice hockey player, currently playing with Djurgårdens IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). He was drafted in the second round, 35th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks as the first Swedish player selected in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Cameron Matthew Fowler (born December 5, 1991) is a Canadian-born American professional ice hockey defenceman and an alternate captain for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). Yevgeny Yevgenyevich Kuznetsov (russian: Евгений Евгеньевич Кузнецов; born 19 May 1992) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Brett Connolly (born May 2, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for HC Lugano of the National League (NL). During his major junior career with the Prince George Cougars, he was named Western Hockey League (WHL) and Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Rookie of the Year for the 2008–09 season.
