2010 Military Bowl
The 2010 Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman was the third edition of the college football bowl game previously called the EagleBank Bowl. It was played as scheduled at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. on December 29, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. (ET), and telecast on ESPN. The event remains sponsored by EagleBank and is organized by the DC Bowl Committee, Inc. and the Washington Convention and Sports Authority. Teams The bowl organizers selected the Maryland Terrapins from the Atlantic Coast Conference and the East Carolina Pirates from Conference USA. This is the first ever meeting between the two programs. East Carolina Pirates The bowl selected the 6-6 East Carolina Pirates to serve as the Conference USA representative. Dominique Dion Davis (born July 17, 1989) is an American professional gridiron football quarterback for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Davis played college football at Boston College, Fort Scott Community College and East Carolina University. Travis Baltz (born November 18, 1988) is a former American football punter. He was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He played college football at Maryland. Early years Travis Baltz was born on November 18, 1988 in Toledo, Ohio to parents Jim and Debbie Baltz. The Armed Forces Bowl, formerly the Fort Worth Bowl from 2003 to 2005, is an annual postseason college football bowl game. First played in 2003, the game is normally held at the 45,000-seat Amon G. Carter Stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. The 2010 and 2011 editions were instead played at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in University Park, Texas, when Amon G. Carter Stadium underwent a reconstruction project. 2010 Army Black Knights Football Team
The 2010 Army Black Knights football team represented the United States Military Academy as an independent in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Black Knights, led by second-year head coach Rich Ellerson played their home games at the Michie Stadium. By winning six regular season games, Army became bowl-eligible for the first time since the 1996 season. They were invited to the Armed Forces Bowl in University Park, Texas, replacing a team from the Mountain West Conference. The Liberty Bowl is an annual American college football bowl game played in late December or early January since 1959. For its first five years, it was played at Philadelphia Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia before being held at Atlantic City (New Jersey) Convention Hall in 1964. The Maryland Terrapins, commonly referred to as the Terps, consist of 19 men's and women's varsity intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Maryland, College Park in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I competition.
