2010 Finnish Cup
2010 Finnish Cup ( fi, Suomen Cup) was the 56th season of the main annual football (soccer) cup competition in Finland. It was organized as a single-elimination knock–out tournament. Participation in the competition was voluntary. The winners of the competition entered the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League#Second qualifying round, second qualifying round of UEFA Europa League. A total of 271 teams registered for the competition. They entered in different rounds, depending on their position within the league system. Clubs with teams in Kolmonen (level IV) or an inferior league, as well as Veterans and Junior teams, started the competition in Round 1. Teams from Ykkönen (level II) and Kakkonen (level III) entered in Round 3. Veikkausliiga clubs started in Round 4 with the exceptions of FC Inter Turku, Inter Turku, FC Honka, Turun Palloseura, TPS and HJK Helsinki. Turun Palloseura, commonly known as TPS, is a professional football club based in Turku, Finland. During the 2022 season, the men's first team of the club competes in Ykkönen, the second highest tier of men's football, and the women's representative team in the Kansallinen Liiga, the highest level of women's football in Finland. Nicknamed "''Tepsi''", the club was founded in 1922. TPS have won 8 League titles and 3 Finnish Cups. Joensuun Palloseura (abbreviated JoPS) is a association football, football club from Joensuu, Finland. JoPS is Joensuu's oldest football club having been formed in 1929. The club has competed in the second tier of Finnish football over 6 seasons, the last time being in 1968. JoPS currently plays in the Kolmonen section that covers Eastern and Central Finland. History JoPS has covered the sports of bandy, pesäpallo, football, and tennis. The football club officially began operations in 1930, the same year as the Karelian District Football Association was founded. In the 1940s, JoPS was the leading bandy club of North Karelia. Sudet (''"Wolves"'' in English) is a sports club from Kouvola, Finland, playing bandy and association football. The club was formed in 1912 and was based firstly in Viipuri (Vyborg), then in Helsinki, before finally moving to Kouvola. Sudet formerly played in the Bandyliiga, the top bandy league in Finland, and has become Finnish champions many times. As of 2014, the club is the reigning national champion in women's bandy. Orimattilan Pedot (abbreviated OPedot) is a sports club from Orimattila, Finland specialising in football and ice-hockey. The club was formed in 1967 and its main home ground is at the Orimattilan keskuskenttä. Background Orimattilan Pedot was originally established in 1967 as an ice-hockey club. However, in recent years football has become the undisputed number one club sport with its low start-up costs. A very important facility for the club is the Jalkapallohalli (Football Hall) which was opened in March 2008 as an indoor training space for the football club. No longer is it necessary to train or play on snow, ice or a wooden floor. The playing surface is FIFA-approved artificial turf.
