2010 European Speed Skating Championships
The 2010 European Speed Skating Championships were held at the indoor ice rink of the Vikingskipet in Hamar (Norway) on 9 and 10 January 2010. Men championships Allround results NQ = Not qualified for the 10000 m (only the best 12 are qualified) DNS = Did not start Source: ISU Female championships Allround results NQ = Not qualified for the 5000 m (only the best 12 are qualified) DNS = Did not start Source: ISU Rules All 24 participating skaters are allowed to skate the first three distances; 12 skaters may take part on the fourth distance. These 12 skaters are determined by taking the standings on the longest of the first three distances, as well as the samalog standings after three distances, and comparing these lists as follows: # Skaters among the top 12 on both lists are qualified. # To make up a total of 12, skaters are then added in order of their best rank on either list. Vikingskipet
Vikingskipet ("The Viking Ship"), officially known as Hamar Olympic Hall ( no, Hamar olympiahall), is an indoor multi-use sport and event venue in Hamar, Norway. It was built as the speed skating rink for the 1994 Winter Olympics, and has since also hosted events and tournaments in ice speedway, rally, association football, bandy, ice sledge speed racing, flying disc and track cycling. The arena is also used for concerts, trade fair and the annual computer party The Gathering. It is the home arena of Hamar IL bandy team. The venue is owned by Hamar Municipality, and along with Hamar Olympic Amphitheatre is run by the municipal Hamar Olympiske Anlegg. Vikingskipet has a capacity for 10,600 spectators during sporting events and 20,000 during concerts. The arena was designed by Niels Torp, and Biong & Biong, and opened on 19 December 1992. Milan Sáblík (; 14 March 1991 in Nové Město na Moravě) is a Czech former speedskater and the younger brother of Martina Sáblíková, the 2007 European Champion and double World Single Distances Champion. Alexander Vadimovich Rumyantsev (russian: Александр Вадимович Румянцев; born 5 December 1986) is a Russian speed skater. Career Rumyantsev competed at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics for Russia. In 2010, he was disqualified in the 5000 metres, and was 13th in the 10000 metres. In 2014, he finished 11th in the 5000 metres. He was also a part of the Russian team pursuit squad, losing to South Korea in the quarter-finals, then losing to Norway in final C, finishing 6th. Patrick Beckert (born 17 April 1990) is a German Olympic speed skater. Becket finished in 22nd place in the 5000 m at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He missed one race because his mobile phone was turned off. He was the fourth reserve for that race, and neither he nor the German team manager thought he would be selected. The Olympic Games officials attempted to call all four reserves after a skater withdrew just one hour before the race, but none four skaters were reachable. He has set eleven German records in the senior division, seven German records in the junior division, and eight championship records. Zbigniew Marcin Bródka (; born 8 October 1984) is a Polish speed skater and a 2014 Olympic champion in 1500 metres. He also works as a firefighter in the State Fire Service station in Łowicz.
