2010 ECM Prague Open
The 2010 ECM Prague Open, also known as 2010 ECM Prague Open by Glanzis was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 9th edition of the ECM Prague Open, and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2010 WTA Tour. It took place in Prague, Czech Republic, from July 12 through July 18, 2010. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Ksenia Yuryevna Pervak (russian: Ксения Юрьевна Первак; born 27 May 1991) is a retired tennis player from Russia. Pervak won one singles title on the WTA Tour, as well as nine singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 19 September 2011, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 37. On 30 January 2012, she peaked at No. 123 in the doubles rankings. Pervak won the 2009 Australian Open girls' singles title, defeating Laura Robson in straight sets in the final. In November 2015, she announced her retirement from professional tennis due to chronic injuries. Mervana Jugić-Salkić (born 14 May 1980) is a retired Bosnian tennis player. She turned professional in 1999, and reached her highest singles ranking on 21 June 2004, when she was ranked world No. 99. Catalina Castaño Álvarez (; born 7 July 1979) is a retired Colombian professional tennis player. Her highest singles ranking of 35 she achieved in 2006.
