2010 Curaçao General Election
Island Council elections were held in Curaçao on 27 August 2010. Early elections were necessary because the island council failed to approve a proposed new constitution with a two-thirds majority in the first reading. Before it could be adopted by a simple majority in the second reading, the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands specified that a general election had to be held. Although the elections were held for the island council of Curaçao, its newly elected members automatically became members of the Parliament of Curaçao when Curaçao became a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010. Results Although the Party for the Restructured Antilles increased its number of seats from 7 to 8, the coalition it led lost its majority. Curaçao ( ; ; pap, Kòrsou, ), officially the Country of Curaçao ( nl, Land Curaçao; pap, Pais Kòrsou), is a Lesser Antilles island country in the southern Caribbean Sea and the Dutch Caribbean region, about north of the Venezuela coast. Partido MAN
Partido MAN is a political party in Curaçao founded in 1971, which has two of the 21 seats of the Estates of Curaçao after the Curaçao general election of 2021. In the elections preceding the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles the party gained two seats as well and joined the coalition government. Name MAN originally stood for ''Movementu Antia Nobo'' (English: New Antilles Movement), but a party congress in 2005 decided to drop that meaning and let MAN be the name of the party in itself. Elections In Curaçao
Curaçao elects a legislature called the Estates of Curaçao. It consists of 21 members, elected for a four-year term by proportional representation. The first Estates of Curaçao were the succession of the Island council of Curaçao (a form of devolved government in the Netherlands Antilles), upon the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. In October 2012, elections were held for the Estates. Prior to becoming a "land" ( en, constituent country) within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010, elections were held for the Island Council and of the Curaçao constituency of the Estates of the Netherlands Antilles. Lista is a former municipality located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1965. The administrative centre was the village of Vanse where Vanse Church is located. Lista municipality was historically known as the municipality of ''Vanse'' until 1911. The People's Crusade Labour Party ( nl, Partij van de Arbeid en de Volksstrijd; pap, Partido Laboral Krusada Popular, PLKP), sometimes referred to as simply Laboral, was a political party in Curaçao founded in 1997.
