2010 Conference Premier Play-off Final
The 2010 Conference Premier play-off Final, known as the 2010 Blue Square Premier play-off Final for sponsorship purposes, was a football match between Oxford United and York City on 16 May 2010 at Wembley Stadium in London. It was the eighth Conference Premier play-off Final and the fourth to be played at Wembley Stadium. The 2010 Final set a new Conference Premier play-off Final attendance record of 42,669 (158 more than the existing record set by Cambridge United and Exeter City two seasons before) with ticket sales suggesting Oxford brought over 33,000 of these. Jake Maxwell Wright (born 11 March 1986) is an English footballer who last played as a defender for Boston United. Wright started his career with Bradford City, but played only one senior game for them, before he joined Halifax Town where he had previously spent a loan spell. Benjamin John Purkiss (born 1 April 1984) is an English former professional footballer and former chairman of the PFA. Having failed to break into the Sheffield United first team, he joined Gainsborough Trinity in 2003. He spent four years at the club before winning a move to York City in 2007. Michael Gerard Ingham (born 9 July 1980) is a semi-professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Tadcaster Albion. He has played in the Football League for Carlisle United, Darlington, York City, Wrexham, Doncaster Rovers and Sunderland and at senior international level for the Northern Ireland national team. Sam Deering (born 26 February 1991) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Brentwood Town. Playing career Deering spent time as a youth team player with Chelsea and Charlton Athletic before joining Oxford United's academy in 2006. Rhys Day (born 31 August 1982) is a Welsh former professional footballer who last played as a central defender for Conference North side Hyde.
