2010 College Basketball Invitational
The 2010 College Basketball Invitational (CBI) is a single-elimination tournament of 16 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament or the 2010 National Invitation Tournament. The opening round began Tuesday, March 16. A best-of-three championship series between the two teams in the final was held on March 29, March 31, and April 2. Chaifetz Arena
Chaifetz Arena ( ), located on the campus of Saint Louis University, is a 10,600 seat multi-purpose arena in St. Louis, Missouri, that began construction on August 28, 2006 and opened on April 10, 2008. In February 2007, Chicago-based businessman Richard Chaifetz, CEO of ComPsych Corporation and 1975 graduate of SLU, made a $12 million donation to the university, which named the arena in his honor. Since the 2008–09 season, it has been the home of the Saint Louis University men's and women's basketball teams. Additionally, the attached Chaifetz Pavilion includes a two-court basketball and volleyball practice facility that also serves as an 800-seat venue that is the home for the university's volleyball teams. The arena, known as "the Jewel of Midtown," includes a three-story athletic office. 2009–10 Green Bay Phoenix Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team represents the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Tod Kowalczyk. The Phoenix played their home games at the Resch Center and were members of the Horizon League. Mid-American Conference
The Mid-American Conference (MAC) is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I collegiate athletic conference with a membership base in the Great Lakes region that stretches from Western New York to Illinois. Nine of the twelve full member schools are in Ohio and Michigan, with single members located in Illinois, Indiana, and New York. 2009–10 Akron Zips Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 University of Akron Zips basketball team represented the University of Akron in the college basketball season of 2009–10. The Zips, led by head coach Keith Dambrot, are members of the Mid-American Conference and played their home games at James A. Rhodes Arena. Atlantic 10 Conference
The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The A-10's member schools are located in states mostly on the United States Eastern Seaboard, as well as some in the Midwest: Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri as well as in the District of Columbia. Although some of its members are state-funded, half of its membership is made up of private, Catholic institutions. 2009–10 Duquesne Dukes Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Duquesne Dukes men's basketball team represented Duquesne University in 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Duquesne hoped to build on the success of the 2008–09 season and began the new year with five straight victories. Soon, however, a string of setbacks hit the team, including the loss of two players, one due to injury and the other to suspension. Duquesne lost its final non-conference game and slipped into a five-game losing streak. The team did manage to break the streak, but had trouble gaining any momentum. In mid-February the Dukes finally seemed to break free with a solid 21 point victory over La Salle, followed by a crucial road upset of the University of Charlotte, which was ranked first in the Atlantic 10 Conference at the time, and finally another upset of the University of Dayton Flyers in front of a sellout Pittsburgh crowd. The 2009–10 IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball team represented the Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis in the 2009–2010 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Jaguars were coached by Ron Hunter and played their home games at IUPUI Gymnasium, also known as ''The Jungle'' in Indianapolis, IN and played three home games plus one exhibition game at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Mountain West Conference (MW) is one of the collegiate athletic conferences affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) (formerly I-A). The 2009–10 Colorado State Rams men's basketball team represented Colorado State University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rams were led by head coach Tim Miles in his third year leading the team. Colorado State played their home games at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colorado, as members of the Mountain West Conference. The Rams finished conference play with a 7–9 record, earning the fifth seed in the Mountain West tournament. The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states.
