2010 City Of Ipswich 300
The 2010 City of Ipswich 300 was the fifth race meeting of the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series. It contained Races 9 and 10 of the series and was held on the weekend of 1–2 May at Queensland Raceway, Ipswich, Queensland. Background The meeting appeared on early announced calendars, but was subsequently cancelled in January after V8 Supercar and circuit operators Queensland Raceways were unable to agree to terms. The Ipswich venue was later restored to the calendar in a deal brokered by Ipswich City Council mayor Paul Pisasale which saw the Council foot the bill for some of the previously unresolvable issues. Part of the resolution saw that the event was run for the first time by V8 Supercar Events rather than the circuit operators. Paul Pisasale
Paul Pisasale is a former mayor of the City of Ipswich in Queensland, Australia, and convicted extortionist. Pisasale was mayor of Ipswich from 2004 to 2017, making him one of Queensland's longest-serving mayors, and was last elected in 2016 with 83.45% of the popular vote. He resigned as mayor in 2017 following a raid on his office by the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission. He was subsequently charged with corruption in 2017. He was committed to stand trial on a number of other charges in 2019, including charges of sexual assault where he was accused of "unlawfully and indecently" assaulting an Ipswich woman, and charges of perjury. The 2010 ITM Hamilton 400 was the fourth event of the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series and the third running of the Hamilton 400. It was held on the weekend of 16–18 April on the inner city streets of Hamilton, in New Zealand. Craig Andrew Lowndes (born 21 June 1974) is an Australian racing driver in the Repco Supercars Championship competing in the Holden ZB Commodore for Triple Eight Race Engineering. Stone Brothers Racing (SBR) was an Australian motor racing team that competed in the International V8 Supercars Championship between 1998 and 2012. Triple Eight Race Engineering, (branded as Red Bull Ampol Racing) is an Australian motor racing team competing in the Supercars Championship.
