2010 British Athletics Championships
The 2010 British Athletics Championships was the national championship in outdoor track and field for athletes in the United Kingdom, held from 25–27 June at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. It was organised by UK Athletics. It served as a selection meeting for Great Britain at the 2010 European Athletics Championships. Conrad Williams (born 20 March 1982) is a British track and field sprinter who competes in the 400 metres and 4×400 m relay. He holds a personal best of 45.02 seconds for the individual event. The majority of his success has come in relay events, where he has won eight senior international medals, including the gold medal for both England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and for Great Britain at the 2014 European Athletics Championships. Stephen Kiprotich ("KIP-roh-tich", born 27 February 1989) is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He is an Olympic marathon champion, having won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Kiprotich also won a gold at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics. He is the second person, after Gezahegne Abera, to follow an Olympic marathon title with a world championship gold medal for the same event. Kiprotich became 2012 Olympic champion with a winning time of 2:08:01 in hot, sunny, and humid conditions. This was the first Olympic medal for Uganda since 1996, the first Olympic gold medal for the country since 1972, and the country's first ever medal in the marathon. Ryan McLeod (born September 21, 1999) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career McLeod was drafted by the Oilers in the second round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He played junior hockey with the Mississauga Steelheads and Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League until turning pro at the end of the 2018–19 season, signing an entry level contract with the Oilers on May 1, 2019. Andrew James Vernon (born 7 January 1986) is a British long-distance runner who specialised in the 5000 metres, the 10,000metres on track and cross country running. After the 2018 commonwealth games and started to concentrate on the roads winning Manchester Half Marathon with the aim of doing a full marathon in 2019. Christopher Thompson (born 17 April 1981) is a British long-distance runner, who won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, on 27 July 2010 behind his compatriot Mo Farah. Prior to his 2010 medal win he had won the European U23 5000 m Championship in 2003. However he was initially unable to build on this victory, as he had substantial injury problems for a number of years. He is currently coached by Alan Storey. Thompson ran at the 2010 Great Yorkshire Run in September and came close to victory, but was edged out by a second by Australian Craig Mottram. Andrew James Baddeley (born 20 June 1982) on The Wirral, Merseyside is an English middle-distance runner. Career He finished sixth in the 1500 metres final at the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. He also competed at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and has a silver medal from the 2005 Summer Universiade. He finished second in the 1500 metres final at the European Cup in Athletics 2007 in Munich, with a time of 3:48.08 minutes. At the Bislett Games on 15 June 2007, Baddeley ran 3.51.95 for the mile which took almost 5 seconds off his personal best and moved him to 12th spot on the UK all time ranking list.
