Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. The Lions are one of the most successful AFL club of the 2000s, appearing in four consecutive Grand Finals from 2001 to 2004 and winning three premierships ( 2001, 2002, 2003). Brent Staker
Brent Allen Staker (born 23 May 1984) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles and in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Staker grew up in Broken Hill in remote country New South Wales. He went to Burke Ward Public School where he made a time capsule to be opened on 2020. He made his A Grade debut in 2000 at age 16 for West Broken Hill, playing in their losing grand final side that year. AFL career West Coast Recruited from NSW/ACT Rams (Under 18s), he made his debut in 2003. In round seven 2004, he earned an AFL Rising Star nomination when he kicked three goals against Melbourne. Albert Proud
Albert Proud (born 6 September 1988) is a former Australian rules football player who played for Mt Gravatt Vultures in NEAFL. Originally from Braybrook in Melbourne's Western suburbs he previously played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Proud is an Indigenous Australian and made a name for himself at the Lions through his fierce attack on the ball, and hard work when not in possession. In 2016 Proud pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting his girlfriend and was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Early life Proud has heritage that traces back to the Torres Strait Islands, but grew up in Melbourne, Victoria. He moved to Brisbane when he was fifteen years old, and later joined the Mount Gravatt Football Club in the QAFL. The East Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Sharks, is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). 2006 AFL Season
The 2006 AFL season was the 110th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. Daniel Mark Bradshaw (born 21 November 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Bears, Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Bradshaw is best known as being a dual premiership forward for the Brisbane Lions. Lachlan Stuart Henderson (born 14 December 1989) is a former Australian rules footballer, who played for the Brisbane Lions, the Carlton Football Club and the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
