2010 ACC Trophy Elite
The 2010 ACC Trophy Elite was a cricket tournament in Kuwait, taking place between March 31 and April 9, 2010. It gives Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also helps forms an essential part of regional rankings. The tournament was won by Afghanistan, who defeated Nepal by 95 runs in the final on April 9. Teams After the 2006 ACC Trophy it was decided to split the tournament into two divisions. The placement of teams in the divisions was based on their final positions in the last ACC Trophy. The top ten teams went on to take part in the 2008 ACC Trophy Elite and the remaining teams were placed in a lower division, the 2009 ACC Trophy Challenge. Bottom two teams were relegated from 2008 ACC Trophy Elite and top two teams from 2009 ACC Trophy Challenge were promoted. Asian Cricket Council
The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Changing its name to the present in 1995. Until 2003, the headquarters of the council were rotated biennially amongst the presidents' and secretaries' home countries. Mirwais Ashraf Khan ( ps, ميرويس اشرف خان) (born June 30, 1988) is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team and Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board since 6 November 2021. Career Ashraf made his One Day International (ODI) debut against the Netherlands at the VRA Cricket Ground on 30 August 2009. Ashraf also made his first-class cricket debut against the same opponents in Afghanistan's debut match in the Intercontinental Cup, where in the Netherlands' second innings he took four wickets for 24 runs to help set up an historic Afghan win by one wicket. Tshering Dorji aka ''Tshagay'' (born 11 September 1995) is a Bhutanese professional footballer who plays for Thimphu City FC as a midfielder. Shapoor Zadran ( ps, ; born 8 July 1987) is an Afghan cricketer. Zadran is a left-arm fast-medium bowler. Zadran currently plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Domestic career Zadran made his debut for Afghanistan against Chitral in the 2003/4 Inter-District Senior Tournament. His international debut for the side came against Oman in the 2004 ACC Trophy. Shabbir Noori (born 23 February 1992) is an Afghan cricketer. Noori is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off break bowler who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Career Noori represented the Afghanistan U-19 cricket team in 2007, making his debut against Malaysia in the ACC Under-19 Elite Cup. Raees Ahmadzai رئیس احمدزی (born 3 September 1984) is an Afghan former cricketer who represented the Afghanistan national cricket team until his retirement in May 2010.
