2009–10 Sheffield Shield Season
The 2009–10 Sheffield Shield season is the 108th season of official first-class domestic cricket in Australia. The season began on 13 October 2009. The Victorian Bushrangers were the winners of the competition, defeating the Queensland Bulls by 459 runs in the final held from 17–21 March 2010 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground Table The top two teams after each round is played will compete for the Sheffield Shield final. The match will be contested at the home ground of the side that finishes first. In the result of a draw, the team that finished on top of the ladder, and hence hosting the match will be awarded the title. Cricket Australia (CA), formerly known as the Australian Cricket Board (ACB), is the governing body for professional and amateur cricket in Australia. Adelaide Oval
Adelaide Oval is a sports ground in Adelaide, South Australia, located in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide. The venue is predominantly used for cricket and Australian rules football, but has also played host to rugby league, rugby union, soccer, tennis among other sports as well as regularly being used to hold concerts. George Bailey (cricketer, Born 1982)
George John Bailey (born 7 September 1982) is a former Australian cricketer, who played all formats for the national team and captained the team in limited-over formats. Domestically, Bailey played for the Tasmanian cricket team in all three domestic state competitions (the Sheffield Shield, One-Day Cup and KFC Twenty20 Big Bash) as well as the Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars in the Twenty20 Big Bash's successor, the KFC Big Bash League. He has also played in the Indian Premier League and T20 Blast. Bailey was appointed as Twenty20 captain of the Australian national team in 2012, succeeding Cameron White prior to the two match series against India that ended 1–1. Jason Krejza
Jason John Krejza (born 14 January 1983) is a former Australian cricketer. He played for the Tasmanian Tigers and Leicestershire. Krejza's father was an association football player from Czechoslovakia and his mother was born in Poland. His nickname is "Krazy". 2004–2008: Early domestic career Krejza is an all-rounder, contributing to the team mainly as a right arm off-break bowler, but also as a right-handed lower-middle order batsman. James Smith (South Australia Cricketer)
James David Smith (born 11 October 1988) is an Australian former cricketer. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm off break bowler, he played first-class cricket for South Australia between 2007 and 2012. He scored a century against Tasmania in late 2009, but did not repeat the feat again at state level. He was released by South Australia at the end of the 2012–13 season. In all, he scored 1,272 runs in 27 first-class matches at an average of 26.50. Brady Jones (born 16 September 1988) is an Australian cricketer who played for Tasmania. Jones played 17 first class matches, but at the end of the 2011–12 season, his contract with Cricket Tasmania was not renewed. WACA Ground
The WACA (formally the WACA Ground) is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium's name derives from the initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian Cricket Association. The WACA has been referred to as Western Australia's "home of cricket" since the early 1890s, with Test cricket played at the ground since the 1970–71 season. Western Warriors
The Western Australian Men’s cricket team, formerly nicknamed the Western Warriors, represent the Australian state of Western Australia in Australian domestic cricket. The team is selected and supported by the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), and plays its home games at the WACA Ground and Perth Stadium in Perth. Cameron White
Cameron Leon White (born 18 August 1983) is an Australian former international cricketer who captained the national side in Twenty20 Internationals. A powerful middle order batsman and right-arm leg-spin bowler, White made his first-class cricket debut as a teenager in the 2000–01 season for the Victoria cricket team as a bowling all-rounder. In 2003–04, he became Victoria's youngest ever captain at the age of 20 when he took over leadership of their one-day side, and the first-class captaincy followed the season after. Daniel Marsh
Daniel James Marsh (born 14 June 1973) is a former Australian cricketer who captained the Tasmanian Tigers. The son of former late Australian keeper Rod Marsh, he was a right-handed batsman and a handy slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played for the South Australia early on in his career and played County Cricket for Leicestershire County Cricket Club.
