2009–10 Sam Houston State Bearkats Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Sam Houston State Bearkats men's basketball team represented Sam Houston State University in the 2009–10 college basketball season. This was head coach Bob Marlin's twelfth season at Sam Houston State. The Bearkats competed in the Southland Conference and played their home games at Bernard Johnson Coliseum. They finished the season 25–8, 14–2 in Southland play to capture the regular season championship. They also were champions of the 2010 Southland Conference men's basketball tournament to earn the conferences automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. They earned a 14 seed in the South Region and were defeated by 3 seed and AP #19 Baylor in the first round. Bob Marlin
Robert Lee Marlin (born March 5, 1959) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head men's basketball coach for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team. Previously, he was the head coach at Sam Houston State from 1998 to 2010. Early life and education Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Marlin graduated from Mississippi State University in 1981 with a B.S. in physical education. Marlin completed a master's degree in health and physical education at Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe) in 1983. Florida Air Academy
Florida Prep (FPA) is a private boarding and day school founded in 1961 by Jonathan Dwight, located in Melbourne, Florida. Students in grades 6 -12 are provided a college-preparatory education that emphasizes leadership, character, accountability, and trust. There are 100 students from 22 countries. Gilberto Clavell
Gilberto Clavell III (born August 10, 1989) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for Indios de Mayagüez of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). Clavell was an All-American college player at Sam Houston State University. Clavell represents the Puerto Rico national basketball team and the Puerto Rico 3x3 men's national team at the international level. College career Clavell, a 6'6" small forward who prepped at Florida Air Academy, played two years at Collin County Community College in Texas. He then moved to Sam Houston State, where he scored over 1,000 points in only two years (1,166). Rice High School (New York)
Rice High School was a private, Roman Catholic, college preparatory high school in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, United States. It is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. The school closed in 2011 due to financial difficulties. Background Rice High School was established in 1938 in Central Harlem by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, who continued to fund the school through much of its existence.
