2009–10 SVB Hoofdklasse
The 2009–10 Surinamese League (known officially as the Hoofdklasse) season was the 76th season of the Surinamese Hoofdklasse, the highest football league competition of Suriname. Teams Excelsior, Super Red Eagles and Takdier Boys were relegated to the Eerste Klasse 2009-10 after finishing the 2008-2009 season in the bottom three places. Takdier Boys suffered their first relegation in Hoofdklasse. Hoofdklasse (Suriname)
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie. SV Transvaal
Sport Vereniging Transvaal is a Surinamese association football club, which currently play in the Eerste Divisie, the top flight of football in Suriname. They play their home games in Paramaribo at André Kamperveen Stadion to a capacity of 7,100. The team is one of Suriname's most successful, having won their first league championship in 1925, and having won a total of 19, good for second most in Suriname after Robinhood. Transvaal have also won the Beker van Suriname (Surinamese Cup) three times and the Suriname President's Cup twice (1997 and 2008). The biggest international successes were in 1973 and 1981, both resulting in CONCACAF Champions Cup victories. To date, they are the only Surinamese club to win the Champions' Cup (now Champions League). Oost is a resort in Suriname, located in the Para District. Its population at the 2012 census was 8,016. The main town in the resort is Paranam. Oost is also home to the former leper colony Bethesda. Sport Vereniging Leo Victor, known as SV Leo Victor, is a Surinamese football club which currently plays in the Eerste Divisie. They play their home games in Paramaribo at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion. History Founded on 9 January 1934 as a Roman Catholic sports club, S.V. Leo Victor were founded by the working community of the Leo Victor cigar factory in Paramaribo, Suriname.
