The 2009-10 Oman First Division League (known as the ''Omantel First Division League'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 34th edition of the second-highest division overall football league in Oman. The season began on 3 March 2010 and concluded on 12 May 2010. Group stage Group A Group B Semifinals 4 teams played a knockout tie. 2 ties were played over two legs. Oman First Division League
The Oman First Division League (known as the Omantel First Division League for sponsorship purposes) is the second-highest Association football league in Oman. Contested by 13 teams, the top 2 teams replace the bottom two in the Oman Professional League while the third-placed team has a play-off facing the third last-laced team in order to gain promotion. It is one of four divisions the Oman Football Association (Oman's main football governing body) encompasses, and has 12 teams while the Second Division and Third Division have 13 and 20 clubs each. All First Division teams are entered in the Sultan Qaboos Cup draw. Two First Division teams made the quarter-finals in 2016. The 2016-17 Oman First Division commenced on September 18. Al-Wahda SC (Oman)
Al-Wahda Sports Club ( ar, نادي الوحدة الرياضي) is an Omani sports club based in Sur, Oman. The club is currently playing in the First Division League of Oman Football Association. Their home ground is Sur Sports Complex. The stadium is government owned, but they also own their own personal stadium and sports equipment, as well as their own training facilities. Al-Oruba Sports Club was a Qatari football club. The football club merged with Al-Nasour to form a new football club named Al-Esteqlal, now known as Qatar SC. It was a founding member of the Q-League and it has won five consecutive Q-League titles. History Early career Al Oruba was founded in 1959. The idea of founding the club came from Abdulaziz bin Jassim. It was decided as the club name by the majority of football supporters due to the overwhelming number of Arab clubs with revolutionary names at the time. The Al-Saada Stadium ( ar, أستاد السعادة), also known as Al-Saada Sports Complex ( ar, مجمع السعادة الرياضي) is a government owned multi-use stadium in the Al-Saada district of Salalah, Oman. The stadium is used only for football matches and is the home stadium of Salalah-based clubs Dhofar, and Al-Nasr. The stadium has originally had a capacity of an estimated 12,000 people, but due to renovation in 2010 the stadium became an all-seater decreasing the maximum capacity to an estimated 8-9,000 spectators. Nizwa
Nizwa ( ar, نِزْوَى, Nizwā) is the largest city in Ad Dakhiliyah Region in Oman and was the capital of Oman proper. Nizwa is about (1.5 hours) from Muscat.
