The 2009–10 Macedonian Football Cup was the 18th season of Macedonia's football knockout competition. FK Rabotnichki were the defending champions, having won their second title. The 2009–10 champions were FK Teteks who won their first title. Competition calendar Preliminary round First round The draw was held on 28 June 2009 in Skopje. FK Rabotnichki ( mk, ФК Работнички) or more commonly Rabotnički (old transliteration) and Rabotnicki is a football club that plays at the Toshe Proeski Arena in Skopje, North Macedonia. They currently compete in the Macedonian First League. History FK Rabotnichki was founded in 1937 as SK Radnički Skoplje. It is widely regarded as the ‘railway football club’. It started competing in the 1938–39 Second League of the Skoplje Football Subassociation which finished 4th out of 5 teams. However the next season Radnički won the league with no defeats among 6 teams and with a goal difference of 45–6, thus earning promotion to the First League of the Skoplje Football Subassociation. FK Belasica ( mk, ФК Беласица) is a football club based in the city of Strumica, North Macedonia. They are currently competing in the Macedonian Second League. History The club was founded on 22 April 1922 at the cafe of Tašo Todorov, where fifty initiators gathered at the founding meeting for the football club Belasica Strumica. FK Bregalnica Štip ( mk, ФК Брегалница Штип) is a football club based in Štip, North Macedonia. They are currently competing in the Macedonian First League. History FK Bregalnica was formed in 1921 and currently plays in the Macedonian First League. Their nickname is The Blues because the club colours are all blue. They play their games at Ground Bregalnica Arena Shtip with Capacity of 4,000 sits. KF Vllaznimi ( mk, ФК Влазними) is a football club based in Struga, North Macedonia. The club currently competes in the Macedonian Third League (Southwest Division). History In 1947 a group of young enthusiasts began activities to found a football club, where they could play during holidays and organize tournaments. Unanimously they decided to represent themselves by the name of the Albanian hero "Emin Duraku". In 1974 for political reasons, they gave the club a new name KF "Vllaznimi" meaning brotherhood. FK Metalurg ( mk, ФК Металург) is a football club from Skopje, North Macedonia. They are currently not playing in any of the four highest tiers of Macedonian football. History The club was founded in 1964. Metalurg has entered the Macedonian First League in the 1992–93 season and were relegated the same year. After playing 15 seasons in the Macedonian Second League they were back in the Macedonian First League for the 2008–09 season. FK Pelister ( mk, ФК Пелистер) is a Macedonian football club based in the city of Bitola, North Macedonia. They are currently competing in the Macedonian Second League. History FK Pelister, was formed in 1945. In 1946 they won the Bitola regional title and that same year they merged with Rabotnik. They won the Bitola title in 1950 and 1951 again. During that time the most influential players were: Georgievski, Dimitrovski, Petrovski, Naumovski, Lazarevski, Sekerdžievski, Avramovski, Nestorov and Eftimovski. KF Vëllazërimi 77 ( mk, ФК братство 77) is a football club based in Kičevo, North Macedonia. They are currently not playing in any of the four highest tiers of Macedonian football. History KF Vëllazërimi entered in the Macedonian First League in the 2005–2006 season and they were the sensation of the league after their great start. But, after some economic problems a lot of the players left the team, however Vëllazërimi managed to stay in the league. The 2006–2007 season found Vëllazërimi with new financial problems and they finished 12th (last) in the league getting relegated. The relegation forced change at the top and the new club chairman was named Gani Arsllani. He sacked coach Nazmi Ajdini referring to the poor results shown in the past year, and named Igor Nikolaevski as the new coach. FK Sileks ( mk, ФК Силекс) is a football club based in Kratovo, North Macedonia who play in the Macedonian First League. History The club was founded in 1965. Sileks biggest accomplishment in 90s came in the Yugoslav Cup where they reached the quarter-final.
